  • Smart bell tents on a small working farm on the edge of Trawden
  • Great walking location close to the Bronte Way and Wycoller
  • Firepit, solar lighting, kitchen kit and handmade double bed
Oakenbank Glamping is part of a small working farm in the lovely Lancashire countryside, on the edge of the village of Trawden and close to the Yorkshire border. The smart bell tents here are all fully kitted out with comfy handmade double beds (made up with luxury cosy bedding), solar lighting, a gas burner and a collection of kitchen essentials. Each one also has its own firepit, plus outdoor table and seating – so pretty much all that’s left for you to bring along is the food and drink (although a torch isn’t a bad idea…) It’s worth bringing your walking boots along as well, because this is great walking country – there are lots of places nearby to get out for a stroll or a proper hike, and it’s a good mile’s walk to the village pub/restaurant. You might also like to walk over to the pretty hamlet of Wycoller (gateway to a rather lovely country park), climb Pendle Hill or explore the area’s literary connections on the Bronte Way (including the ruins of 16th-century Wycoller Hall – believed to have been the inspiration for Ferndean Manor in Jane Eyre). This is a family-friendly site, so as well as the double bed provided you can also request additional camp beds to accommodate the kids if you wish.

Bell tent

Liked: Great little family run camp site with enough space for the kids to play, but always be in sight

Lovely welcome from Leah and all the equipment provided and amenity on site were perfect for anyone just wanting a minimum hassle camping experience!

The Trawden Arms was a nice 20 min walk away (with a few hills) that did great food and was a friendly local pub

Will be back again for longer next time!
