  • Quiet site with rural atmosphere, just outside the village of Wesham
  • Six miles from the seaside at Blackpool and Lytham St Annes
  • Close to golf courses including Royal Lytham & St Annes
Blackpool holidays in swish and scenic surrounds: what an enlightening prospect. The spruce rural setting of Lancashire's Mowbreck Park gives easy access to the famed seaside town, but is in a peaceful rural spot for placid retreats after days among Blackpool's amusements, Pleasure Beach and trying your luck on the one-armed bandits: the locale here is win/win. The pretty holiday homes at Mowbreck are housed on part of the former grounds of the Earl of Derby's estate, which has kept its upmarket appearance with mature trees and well-maintained gardens. Each static caravan is centrally heated and has a kitchen, bathroom and verandah. A launderette is on site for communal use. It's all surrounded by farmland and Fylde countryside for a rural and quiet vibe, but well connected even so, as the park is six miles from Blackpool and Lytham St Annes, a couple of miles from the M55, and a mile from Kirkham and Wesham station. Four golf courses are within a few miles, including Royal Lytham & St Annes. Amenities, facilities and leisure options are all easy to access from here: Mowbreck's setting on the edge of the village of Wesham is also a mile and a half from Kirkham, where there's a large supermarket, weekly restaurant, a couple of restaurants and several takeaways.

Local attractions

Whether you crave the noise and buzz of Blackpool, or hanker after the quieter vibe of Lytham St Annes, Lancashire golf courses, or peaceful afternoons wandering the countryside, days of all sorts are easily arranged from here. The main highlight in the area is def glitzy Blackpool, where the sights to see and antics to get up to include Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach amusement park, Blackpool Zoo and riding the resort's tramways. It and the quieter resort of Lytham St Annes (with Victorian pier and five miles of beach) are six miles from the site. Also within six miles, the RSPB Ribble Discovery Centre is a top option for kids (and grownups) to roam around and learn about the handsome Ribble Estuary, through the centre's regular events, activities and motorboat rides on Fairhaven lake. Brockholes Nature Reserve, on wetland and woodland, is about 20 minutes' drive away at Preston; after a trek around there, head into town for a pick of soft play centres, five museums and peaceful trips on the Lancashire Canal. Beacon Fell Country Park is a short drive from Preston, on the edge of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
