Non-electric grass tent pitch (large)
Liked: Virtually everything. Toilet/showers were well maintained. Campsite was beautiful and loads of animals on the meadow. Pitches were great and I didn't find one stone when putting the pegs into the ground. Staff were friendly and happy to advise, what to do and where to go. Really handy for lots of different towns. Hands down the best campsite I've been to. Really quiet even though the animals let you know its morning, which I personally liked. Shop has a nice selection of items.
Disliked: Electronic gates are off between 10pm-9am and you can't drive to your pitch between those times. However you just park up and walk to the pitch.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: This was out 2nd visit to Shepards view and as our first visit this visit was no different other than amazing upgrades. This site is lovely kept a to a high standard of cleanliness. Members of staff were lovely. I had requested if we could use the same pitch as previously for memories as our visit was for a trip to say our final goodbyes to our recently passed away dog and this request was granted without a 2nd thought which made our trip that extra bit special although if it wasn’t possible I know any pitch we were on would of been just as great. Larges pitches with a fire pit provided which a a great extra touch. Wood and fire starter kit delivered to pitch for a very small fee for the logs (great quality logs as well) toilets and shower facilities were kept clean and mop provided for after shower which ensured safety for ourselves and other guests not to slip on wet floor. Close by to seascale which FYI best fish and chips ever! We even managed to make friends with 2 cats unsure if they were owners or strays but they were super friendly and made us smile. We will 100% be returning
Disliked: The only down fall is signal isn’t the best for devices however this isn’t anything that can be resolved it’s just purely down to area but doesn’t put me off made the time more special (WiFi was available at reception so if ever an emergency and needed to get in touch with a family member could easily pop to receptions)

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review, it is very much appreciated. It was lovely to see you both again and we are really pleased you had another enjoyable stay. The cats aren't ours, but it's nice to hear they are friendly. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Best wishes, Julie

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Large pitch but on a slant. Washroom/toilets were clean. Campfires are already on the pitches
Disliked: The slant to the pitches and the showers were cold on our last day. No shops nearby and had to travel at least 30mins for anything
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your review If you had let us know that the showers where cold on your last day we would have been able to address the situation. In regards to shops near by we have a small shop on site as well as a co op which is in seascale this is 1 mile away from site. I am uncertain on what items you requiered but if you has asked a member of staff we would have been able to point you in the right direction kind regards, Rachael

Liked: Good site, well maintained, friendly, helpful and accommodating. The site is quite secluded out on the coast and not too far from the beach.
Disliked: Unisex toilets, as a man it doesn’t really matter to me but you have to see it from a woman’s perspective.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (large)
Liked: We had a lovely stay at Shepards Views on a large grass electric pitch, situated on a working farm. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. There is lots to get out and do outside of the site, St. bees, Seascale Beach, Whitehaven, coastal walks and more. Plenty of onsite toilets and showers which were kept immaculately clean everyday, grass areas well look after also. Campfires available.
Disliked: Only disadvantage was WiFi.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Lovely place, lots of local things to see.
Disliked: One of the younger members of staff is very uptight, makes you feel rather uncomfortable. Pitch was on a slight decline so when it rained, our tent filled with water

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Regarding a younger member of staff being 'uptight' on checking in you had brought an extra adult and child and extra car which you had not booked in or informed us of prior to arrival. All staff and a number of guests on site had great concerns regarding the behaviour of your family & we had to speak to you on numerous occasions during your stay regarding this, especially for the few mentioned incidents here. Two of the children were driving a scooter with a large engine attached around site, at speed & we had to inform you this is illegal and told you it must not be used on site, at any time. One of the adults and children were flying a drone in a field containing animals terrifying them, our site is also in a no-fly zone and drones are not permitted anywhere on or around site. An adult and children were also in the field with our Alpaca chasing them around, fortunately our Alpaca were not injured, but they were extremely distressed. We had a complaint from a guest that you were encouraging your children to go to our recycling bins and bring up plastic bottles to burn on your campfire causing offensive smelling thick black smoke, your children were also left on site unattended on more than one occasion. Our list of camping etiquette is given to all guests on arrival and you also received a copy of this. This is for the safety and comfort of all guests on site including yourselves, we have a duty of care to everyone on site and the safety of all guests and staff is paramount. Your family's behaviour was a danger to yourselves, staff, other guests and even animals on site. For the full duration of your stay we had no flooding on site whatsoever. Shepherds Views Team

Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch
Liked: Lovely working farm pitch. Really friendly welcome on arrival. Lots of provisions in the small reception shop. Wood, fire lighters and kindling delivered direct to our patch. Clean bathroom facilities, always able to go when needed and the site was relatively busy. Washing up area always clean and the pitch itself was huge with own fire pit. Was hesitant and even thought about cancelling after reading many reviews about the welcome people received. Couldn't fault the owners or the welcome.
Disliked: Site is as described. Disliked barking dogs. There were lots and at some points it was like camping next to a busy kennel. This is purely poor dog owners controlling their dogs.

From the manager: Hi Helen, Thank You for your kind review, We are sorry that you were disturbed by dogs, but we agree this is down to the dog owners We look forward to welcoming you back again soon Rachael
