What customers say
Top campsite, super friendly staff. Impeccable, modern loos and showers. Bistro food's a winner. Perfect for Hadrian's Wall or a quiet, scenic escape. Minor building work didn't spoil an excellent, highly recommended stay.

Brilliant camping site with great facilities.
Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked One of the best places I’ve been camping. Clean toilets and showers along with a kitchen to use. The staff are friendly. I will definitely go back again.
Disliked Could do with a shop that sells items such as cooking oil but this was my fault for forgetting to bring some. The village is so scenery and the locals are friendly. The Internet is poor signalbut again that’s nothing to do with the company.

Electric optional gravel motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely set up with great facilities. Food in Bistro on site was very good and pub is less than 50m away. The bus to Carlisle stops right at entrance if you are walking Hadrians Wall wall as we were.
Disliked Roosters crowing in the morning may not be to everyone’s taste but they were funny and the young chicks walking around site were very cute!!!

Electric optional hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch
Liked Hidden away in a small village setting down country lanes on a National cycle route and only a few minutes walk to a beach overlooking the Solway Firth. Surrounded by nature reserves. Tents, campers, small motor homes catered for, EHU optional. Modern clean facilities block. Bar/restaurant on site which is popular with locals. Small cafe a few minutes away open at weekends. Pub nearby too but we didn’t use it. Don’t be put off by what looks like building work, the site is expanding but there was no work taking place during our stay. Some noise from the road but it is the only road through the village. Perfect for a getaway from it all.
Disliked Lack of recycling facilities. Some of the camping is in carpark areas.

Weekend away or Great place to start Hadrians wall walk from.
Electric optional hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch
Liked Great hardstanding with grass pitches. It was quiet when we went so very peaceful. Amazing toilet block, very well thought out. Lovely on site pub and restaurant with nice meals.Great washing up facilities and washer dryer. Super friendly staff. Great little museum about the area. Lots of info boards around the village describing history. Shepherd huts looked lovely. If doing the hadrians wall path make sure to stamp your book at the official start. Worth a look around the little church next door. The most perfect place for a lazy weekend away.
Disliked Don't let the first impression of a bit of a building site put you off as its just work in progress and not an issue. Hope the toilets stay as pristine as they are. Could do with mops in there to mop shower spills. A microwave, kettle and toaster would be a great addition in the kitchen room maybe.
