Liked: the campsite was fantastic, lovely quiet field with lots of space for the kids to play. Dog friendly. The owners and staff are helpful and friendly. There is a small cafe on site for the mornings/evenings you do not feel like cooking. I would recommend and will certainly be back.

Liked: The outdoor wooden showers were spacious with plenty of hot water. The location is great, a 15 minute walk from two local pubs with nice garden seating, beautiful walks to waterfalls and rivers, with a clear river right next to the site. The food van was so convenient and it was great to be able to rent a firepit for the night. The staff were lovely - friendly and helpful. Even though there were plenty of people camping, it never felt too crowded or got too loud. I'd absolutely recommend this site!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (four person)
Liked: Walks from the campsite were great, especially along the Esk and up to Stanley Force waterfall. The owners are very friendly and good at sorting out any queries you have. Nice basic facilities that are good value for money too.
Disliked: We arrived on a Wednesday which was good as the site wasn’t crowded however, understandably, the food van wasn’t open due to this. This meant we had to eat at at the local pubs and train station cafe for breakfast and dinners until the van opened on Friday as more people moved in. Not so much a complaint as this food and drinks were very nice but just a more expensive addition to be holiday that we weren’t expecting.

Liked: Lovely campsite, with beautiful views of the surrounding area with amazing walks on your doorstep. The facilities was in good condition, the showers were lovely and hot with good pressure. The washing up facilities was good. The toilets was always clean with plenty of toilet roll. We didn’t use the van as we cooked on the fire most nights, but it’s a good idea to have. However, it is only open at peak busy periods.
Disliked: Only minor dislike was the sink is pretty low and starts to ache your back when cleaning loads of pots and pans.
