  • Peaceful park in the centre of the Cheshire canal network
  • 100-acre site five miles from Nantwich with easy access from the M6
  • Café and picnic areas; access to walks along the towpath
Peaceful and scenic, Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park is a prime destination for anyone who adores the countryside. Based on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal in Church Minshull, the Cheshire park also has a great set of marina facilities. Visit the award-winning marina’s licensed café and picnic areas to unwind. Set on a 100-acre plot, guests can also watch the wildlife or take a walk along the towpath. There are also showers and 24-hour laundry facilities. For activities outside of the park, there are many shops, cafés and pubs in the market town Nantwich, which is a five-mile drive away. There’s also easy access to the M6 and the B5074 in Church Minshull. Families, couples, small groups and dogs are all welcome at the site.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (premium)

Liked: Fully serviced pitches, great. Satnav took me to a different place on arrival. Phoned marina but given no help by a rude girl. Site is not pleasing to the eye and views not great. It was like spending the weekend on an industrial estate.

Bell tent (four person)

Liked: We liked the area and the marina where the bell tents are situated.

Disliked: Unfortunately, we were not given any towels as stated on the booking. We booked 4 tents and none of them had towels. The showers were ice cold until someone came to maintain them at around 9am, when one of our party was lucky enough to get a warm shower. However the following day, which was Sunday, nobody came to maintain the showers which meant they were ice cold and filthy. There were some lovely string lights around the camp site but they didn’t work. We called the number given to us but nobody answered for got back to us. On the second night, a fellow camper helped us climb the pole to reconnect the lights and they were beautiful. The grass around the tents was over a foot high, making it difficult to move around the field. However, the grass had been cut for campers with their own tents - very bizarre.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: This site is very well maintained and has all the required facilities (toilets, baby changing room, showers) which make your camping stay much more pleasant. Additionally, there is a nice cafe where you can have your cuppa and English breakfast after a night in a tent or caravan, which makes for a great start to a day!

Local attractions

Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park's Cheshire location and easy access from the M6 means it's in a most handy spot to get to heaps of tourist attractions around this part of the north west and Chester. A popular option in the area is Oulton Park, the racing track in the little village of Budworth that bills itself as the most picturesque track in all the land, or you could hike around the wilds of nearby Delamere Forest, or stick to lazy days and potter around small Cheshire villages like Tattenhall and Tarporley. Chester is also easily accessible from the caravan park and has heaps to see among its old streets and swish shops. Animal fans make their way to Chester Zoo on the outskirts of the city to see as many as possible of its 12,000+ animals and over 400 species; if nature is your animalish thing, also get along to the Blue Planet Aquarium and its 100 or so living displays including the biggest school of sharks in Europe. Green fingered? Clear the car boot and drive over to Bridgemere, one of the biggest garden centres in the world and with all things gardenlike as well as toys and clothes in its mammoth shopping centre.
