  • Naturist site with private fields in the South Yorkshire countryside
  • A 25-minute drive from Doncaster city centre; dog walks nearby
  • Covered communal area; barbecues permitted; beer available on site
Let down your hair a little at Freedom for All Naturist Camping… this is a peaceful naturist site in a remote location in South Yorkshire, so you won’t have to worry about being out in the open. Here, you’ll have plenty of space to wander around freely without the hassle of any public rights of way, as the private fields are 25 minutes’ drive away from Doncaster city centre (day trips to spy the minster or go bargain hunting, anyone?) Wildlife is at large around this site… and you might catch the site’s alpacas and the sheep and their lambs having their own laidback time surrounded by the restful rural scenery. Those of you wanting to bring your dog along for the merry time are in luck, as the site permits dogs, so long as they’re hooked up at all times. Handily, there are some scenic walks surrounding the site to make sure you and your pal both get in your daily exercise. Of course, it’s all about the chilled-out times here, so where will you go to unwind first? Well, once you’ve parked up, there’s a covered communal area where guests can say hello. Barbecues are provided by the site, so perhaps that might be your first target. The site is licensed, so beer is available on site. Otherwise, there’s a family-run pub just 15 minutes’ walk away down the road. You’ll be able to keep yourself feeling fresh and breezy here too, as the amenities block has showers and toilets. Other handy facilities include a dishwashing area and wifi.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Friendly and welcoming owner. Very quiet location. Great walks for the dogs. Despite looking “rustic” the toilets were spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen/utility.

Disliked: Somewhat uneven pitches, grass was a bit long. No hot water. It rained during our stay (not heavily) which turned the uneven areas into quite deep muddy puddles and we nearly got stuck when leaving (admittedly the owner did say if we did get stuck it wasn’t a problem as they had 4x4s and a Tractor if we needed pulling out). It would benefit from some work on levelling some areas, better ground drainage and a hardcore access road down the middle of the field. Slightly expensive for the facilities.

Liked: This is a great site, you don’t have to be naked, you don’t have to mix with others, you are told everything is at your pace, we were on the back field and it was peaceful and allowed us to get confident at our pace. We eventually had a walk around, visited the hot tub which was lovely, used the showers at least 3 times which were clean and nice, we met some couples and single naturists and they were all lovely, I saw another review for the same weekend saying it was a swingers site and that’s not what we found, yes there were swingers at the site but that does not mean they want you :) found everyone to be friendly and fun to chat to, made us feel at ease and met a nice couple that we chatted to until the early hours. Overall Sean is a great host, he won’t allow anyone to feel uncomfortable and will make it clear to speak to him if you do. Very safe place to visit and try naturism or become a regular once you’ve been.

Liked: Friendly, basic but clean facilities, nice quiet location, tidy site.

Disliked: Be warned this not just a naturist site - it was clear most other people were there for swinging. As a first timer to naturist camping it was really disappointing to be in such a sexually-charged environment. Each to their own and everyone was friendly and welcoming, but it’s unfair to not make this aspect of the site clear, when many people going there based on the profile here are expecting to camp nude without feeling sexualised.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Everything!! Fantastic campsite, we are new to naturism and were made to feel so welcome and put instantly at ease with no pressure to go nude straight away just whenever you feel comfortable. The community spirit there is amazing, everyone is friendly and help each other out and the evening gatherings at the firepits are so much fun. It's really peaceful and relaxing in the daytime, you can walk around the fields, meet the alpacas and the horses, have a chat with fellow campers and relax beside your tent/van. The facilities are good - toilets and showers, a kitchen with a kettle, microwave and fridge and food van on some nights/mornings. Definitely recommend this campsite to naturists and anyone new to naturism, go along and enjoy!

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The owner Shaun is the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was so friendly & welcoming. Shower was great, toilets clean. The atmosphere mid week is nice & chilled. Had so many laughs & giggles with the other couples. We really enjoyed our first night.

Disliked: Friday onwards - The site felt cramped as more & more people arrived. It quickly became too rowdy, I heard some vulgar things said in regards to myself & partner & that 1 individual completely spoilt it for us then. Respect never goes out of style. The peace was disturbed there on after. Such a shame.

Local attractions

How do you like to spend your downtime? Perhaps with a game of golf to brush up on your swing? A day out at the races? Getting googly-eyed at the artefacts in museums or skimming through art galleries? From Freedom for All Naturist Camping, you’ll get to do them all, as it’s well within reach of the local golf course (15 minutes’ drive), Doncaster Racecourse (25 minutes) and Doncaster city centre (25 minutes) for museums, galleries and shops. There’s much more entertainment at Xscape Yorkshire (half an hour). See, this entertainment centre is chock-full with activities, some gutsier than others, such as the indoor ski slopes, and others easier, such as miniature golf, bowling and the cinema. Of course, some of you may be in search of adrenaline, and that’s okay, because Hatfield Water Park (20 minutes) is all about the watersports and aqua park, and Go Ape Normanby Hall (45 minutes) will soon get your heart racing, thanks to its treetop ropes course and zipwires. Other motley activities that you might want to introduce to your itinerary include a Victorian-style afternoon out in Brodsworth Hall and Gardens (25 minutes) or a little walking safari around Yorkshire Wildlife Park (35 minutes).
