What customers say
Friendly staff and a great pub with good grub. Pitches are well-spaced, with clean facilities. Great base for exploring. Some toilets/showers are a bit old-fashioned, and train noise can bother a few.

Friendly staff, not a quite site.
Electric grass touring pitch
Liked The site team were warm and welcoming. The other campers very helpful.
Disliked The facilities were dated compared to other sites. Caravans on the grass pitches were very close together. The site was quite noisy with trains passing and people being loud coming out of the pub late on.

Good location, friendly staff, tidy pitches.
Electric grass tent pitch
Liked The staff were friendly even when busy. The food was nice but quite expensive for the main meals.
The location was good.
Disliked The showers were a bit gross.
The site had rules, but were not really enforced, especially with noise after 1030pm.
People playing football next to cars, with the inevitable happening, but fortunately no damage on this occasion.
Right next to the road, and train station/railway line.

Level pitch. Adequate facilities. Pub closed 2 days a week.

Liked Location. Harbour town of Amble 4 miles away . A gem of a find.
Disliked We stayed the wrong 2 days. The pub is closed Monday and Tuesday. Other than that lovely.

Great site with good facilities. Food in the pub is great too.
Electric grass touring pitch
Liked Well spaced out pitches. Very friendly staff. Showers were hot, powerful and clean.
The pub had a lovely atmosphere too. We ate in there and the food was fantastic. The landlord (I presume) was friendly and welcoming. He was more than happy to have a chat and a laugh.

A crackin caravan site, clean, tidy, great pitches n friendly staff
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked My husband and l are really enjoying our holiday here at The Railway Inn, Caravan Site, Acklington. We are enjoying it so much, we have extended our stay for a further 4 days. This lovely friendly family run site has everything we need, well kept clean toilet n shower facilities, the onsite pub is the heart, has a restaurant with food available, take away if requested, entertainment is between Wednesday n Sunday, (Mon/Tues maintenance and repairs are carried out), however, Amble is a little town, only 10 mins from the site, it has supermarkets, gift shops, a pier, and the beaches are close by, also plenty of places of interest to explore, if we feel like it???

Fantastic potential, great location, good site for our holiday
Electric grass tent pitch
Liked Location was great for us to visit the local towns we like such as Amble and Alnmouth.
The pub is great with excellent food and selection of drinks.
Disliked Poor communication from the owner/manager to his staff who themselves were great.
The slide at the park could do with getting fixed as was broken in parts without any signage so you don't know until you slide down it!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked The grass pitches looked lovely but I was on hard standing.
I choose the site for its proximity to Cragside House and that worked very well.
The owners were lovely and if you are into pubs it would have been a big bonus, but I’m not. My bad!
Despite it being a pub I was never disturbed by noise late at night - or any other time.
Disliked Because I booked late, all the grass pitches had gone and I was on a hard standing pitch, towards the far end of the area. The pitches there are odd shapes and pretty packed in. There was only one night when it was really bad, but my pitch was almost entirely in the shade, chiefly all morning, but it only got the sun for a small part of the afternoon. Memo to myself to make sure I get a pitch with morning sun in future! I feel the cold and would rather use solar heat than run up the site’s electricity bill.
The train line runs right next to the hard standing pitches and trains are frequent but most are short and the noise has gone almost as soon as you notice it. Not a problem for me, but others may not like it.

Liked Not a lot I am afraid.
Disliked Toilets are so dated, shower water drains away very slow so the tray fills up to the top, sorry but been to far better sites for the same money.

Very friendly staff. The food at the pub was really good.
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Henry is fantastic. We asked if we could stay on the pitch later than the 10am check out so that we could have Sunday lunch at the pub before we left. He said no problem take you're time with you're meal leave when you're ready. Top man
