  • Holiday park in 52 acres with views to Scarborough and the North Sea
  • Scarborough 10 minutes’ drive; North Yorkshire Water Park 15 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pitches; clubhouse open weekends for drinks
Set in 52 acres of private grounds and woodland, Lady Edith’s Holiday Park is a peaceful spot to lay your head down for the night close to North Yorkshire’s popular coastline. At 10 minutes’ drive from Scarborough, the site has views to the North Sea on one side and the North York Moors National Park on the other. Whether you’re seeking an adventure, a quick fun-filled break or a quiet getaway just for two, there’s plenty on site to help you on your way. Keep any kids occupied in the play area – cleverly sited opposite the picnic area so you can watch them as you grill up a gourmet treat. The clubhouse on site serves breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and barbecue food on Friday and Saturday evenings. There's also a bar on site, open on weekends, should you fancy a pint. Four-legged companions travelling with you? There are miles of woodland trails in which to exercise them – and that’s without even leaving the holiday park.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: The campsite is really well connected to other coastal towns, it’s got a relatively cheap restaurant and bar on site and all of the staff were absolutely lovely (specially the restaurant ladies!). Toilets are very clean (although you’ve got to pay £ 0.20 for 2 min of water) it’s a nice campsite with pretty views of Scarborough castle and the forest behind you.

Disliked: It is very very loud. They run events like karaoke and bingo until midnight, no real curfew for children running around and adults being drunkily loud. Additionally there’s several horrid peacocks on site that are also quite loud and will try to eat your food. The camping pitch is quite sloped in areas and patchy.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Lovely campsite, large grass area with electric hook up for tents and in my case a tentbox. Nice and clean toilet/shower facilities. 20p for 2 minutes on the showers. Bar open in the evenings with a great selection of drinks available. On site children's play area located next to the bar and facilities. There is additional food bbq that runs while school holidays and in the prime season. But wasn't open when I stayed. 10 minutes away from the centre of Scarborough for the beach and a bit of shopping.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: The site was very tidy, quiet and friendly. There was a well kept playground which the kids liked. Scarborough ws only 9 minutes drive away, so easy access to various places.
There is a lovely bar and bbq area. The toilets and showers were lovely and clean but you do need 20ps for showers which are lovely and warm not to hot .

Disliked: It's a shame there's no laundry facilities for emergencies as going in the car to Scarborough would wast alot of time .
The bar and bbq area is lovely such a shame they don't do regular food . The tent pitch wasn't checked before we set up there were tent pegs left everywhere which was awkward for parking worried about the tyres getting popped .

Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Kids liked the park
Pancakes and waffles

Disliked: Unable to get into entertainment as it was too busy. By 5/6pm everyone was drunk, nothing for kids to do in the evening.
Very long walk into Scarborough took us about an hour.
Toilet and showers were OK nothing special, had to pay for showers 20p for 2 mins.
People taking dogs into toilet to wash them not very hygienic.
Says they were woods for dog walking we couldn't find it.
This caravan park is ok if just adults want to go get drunk.
The bbq part ran out of food on our second night so partner had to go to Scarborough and find a take away at 8pm luckily there was a nice one that was just closing but willing to make food.
Says no ball games near bbq bit but kids still did.
Very difficult to put awning up due to very hard gravel.

Local attractions

Lively Scarborough (10 minutes’ drive) has a couple of long sandy beaches divided up by a rocky headland topped by the ruins of the town’s 11th-century castle. Have a potter along the prom in South Bay, and then head over to North Bay for views of the town and seascape. Kids in tow? Make for Peasholm Park (five minutes) to hire a pedalo on the lake, play mini-golf or feed the cheeky grey squirrels with peanuts sold on site. And Scarborough’s not the only family seaside resort in the vicinity. Head to Bridlington (35 minutes) for amusement arcades, high-speed RIB cruises from the harbour and fish and chips on the prom. Filey (20 minutes) is the place for feeding chattering birds in Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park, or taking long strolls along the sweeping sandy beach. There are bracing hikes to be had along the white cliffs of Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast (35 minutes), or sections of the long-distance Cleveland Way (10 minutes). If the kids have still got too much energy after that, let them loose on the inflatable climbing course at North Yorkshire Water Park (15 minutes).
