Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked Very Clean site excellent location friendly staff on arrival, nice bathroom facilities and services all spotless.
Nice touch to have the little cafe onsite did a good Sunday lunch, and other food looked good. Local town easy walk to and nice place to visit especially the breweries!

Disliked Not a dislike just an observation, reception doesn’t seem to be open all day just afternoons so when we wanted to ask a question about busses we couldn’t as we didn’t see a single staff member after check in in four days.
A definite dislike but not site owners fault the site is next door to an exceptionally smelly farm it had overwhelming smell of slurry which was sickening, could not leave doors and windows open or sit outside so for that reason we would not go back.

Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked The staff at the Old Station Caravan Park were friendly & helpful. Facilities were clean. The onsite cafe had an extensive menu.

Disliked The bathroom areas were rather dated and the showers cramped with short water timings, but as already stated, they were kept clean.
The paperwork received upon arrival advised that due to rising energy costs there’s a limited amount of electricity usage included in your booking with extra needing to be paid for, but there didn’t seem to be any way to tell how much we had used.

From the manager: Thank you for your comments. we are sorry you felt the toilets and showers were dated, they are very servicable and the showers are free albut you have to press the button for water. if they were not push button can you imagine how much water would be wasted if left turned on.We have a plan to upgrade them in the near future but as this will cost as estimate of £25,000 to £30.000 its not something we are going to do on a regular basis otherwise we would have to put a great increase on our pitch fees to help pay for this.
The electic for all our pitches is metered and we give £5per night per caravan/motorhome/campervan which currently equates to 16.5 Khw units, this is certainly sufficient for a campervan unit as yours. This is enough to cover more than one night currently whilst we are experiencing the milder weather its only in colder times that some units will use this amount and more. But as we are experienced at the useage, we monitor it regukarly to ensure our customers have enough and dont run out of electic. If we thought you might use this and more we would have taken the time to explain further. Sorry for any misunderstaanding with it. We hoped you enjoyed your visit to Masham

The site is one of the best kept I’ve ever been to.

Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch

Liked Location, site and cafe all lovely. Easy walk to Masham. Site compact and not too complicated. Breakfast at the cafe before we set off was delicious.

Disliked Very noisy with traffic and jets as well as the wildlife. No dog walk. Although there was a field in walking distance there was no easy access for an old dog we had to lift her over the stile.

Electric optional grass tent pitch (adults only)

Liked Lovely setting in a lovely part of North Yorkshire, close to some pretty villages with lots of amenities and places to visit.
We camped for a couple of nights and the pitches are tucked away on the Caravan Park in a nice little spot.
The park is a nice size with a mixture of different types of accommodations and the facilities, ie showers and washing room were spotless.
Friendly, helpful check in experience.
Only wish we had eaten there at the restaurant on site, but we will be back again so definitely next time!

Local attractions

It's really quite a breeze to get to Ripon (20 minutes' drive) – the cathedral city can be reached by car simply by driving south for a while down the A6108, and there’s also a bus service that departs from Masham several times daily that should get you there in about half an hour. Want a sense of what it was like to be banged up in the 1800s? Make tracks for Ripon’s well-reviewed Prison and Police Museum. Fountains Abbey (25 minutes) is another must-see for all fans of history. The 12th-century abbey itself was all but destroyed during the dissolution of the monasteries under Henry VIII, but its striking ruins still stand today against a brilliant backdrop of 800 acres of meticulously-tended water gardens. For food-focused jaunts, meanwhile, you could set your sights on Pateley Bridge (30 minutes), home to The Oldest Sweet Shop in the World (certified by no less an authority than Guinness World Records), or alternatively stick to savoury flavours in Hawes (50 minutes), where cheese is on the agenda at Wensleydale Creamery.
