Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: We loved the view looking out onto the river and the hills. It was a small field, but everyone had enough space for tents and cars. Jason the owner ,was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Well definitely back next year. Also the site is just a 5 min walk into Grassington. What more do you need ?

Disliked: The toilets were lovely and clean. I didn't use the portable shower block . Didn't like how it was unisex. The owner explained why it wasn't allowed, due to planning and drainage etc. But they were still clean and had lovely hot water,as my husband used them

Non-electric grass tent pitch (backpacker, no cars)

Liked: This campsite was nice and quiet with excellent views. The location was perfect with a five minute walk to the village centre and a twenty minute drive to lately bridge. The facilities were adequate for the price charged ,staff were friendly.

Disliked: No electricity, this maybe a problem for some people.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Great campsite with good facilities (showers, toilets, kitchen sink). The views from the campsite are magnificent - looking straight up the rolling hills of the Dales. The village is very handy with a few nice pubs and a little shop (NISA) and is only 5-10 minute walk away.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (backpacker, no cars)

Liked: We received a friendly welcome and shown to the part of the campsite for walkers which also was the most sheltered spot, ahead of a very windy night. Toilets and showers were very clean and the changing area for the showers was very spacious. Amazing views!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Lovely campsite with working clean toilets, hot clean showers (with a good size changing area, we fit our family of four in!), and even a place to wash up our plates. The view was beautiful and lots of fabulous walks nearby. Grassington has everything that you need in it too. Would definitely recommend our little ones did not want to leave and neither did the dog!

Disliked: Absolutely nothing, it was all perfect

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: We had a great time on the campsite. Jason really looks after the place. The toilets are well kept and the showers are really great for a family. It's like a family changing room with a shower. While you're getting one dry and dressed you can send another into the shower all without going outside. We had some lovely walks all from our base at the campsite. We went swimming in the river and walked over the stepping stones. We even found a mystery trail around Grassington. There is plenty of space on site for children to run around and play. We borrowed a fire pit from Jason and we loved cooking over it and toasting marshmallows. We would like to come back again.

Disliked: It was very windy on the hill side and our event shelter suffered. But aside from that I have no complaints!

Local attractions

There’s more than enough to do around Grassington to keep the whole family happy. Let the kids have a run around among the bewitching follies and water fountains at The Forbidden Corner (45 minutes’ drive), and for an active family day scrambling around on zipwires, make for Raven Tree Top Adventure (20 minutes). At Bolton Abbey (25 minutes), wander among spectacular church ruins, take the stepping stones across the River Wharfe and watch open-air cinema in summer months. Close by is Hesketh Farm Park (25 minutes), where the whole family can pet farm animals and get lost in the straw maze. Hit a rainy day? No problem; take a trip deep underground to see prehistoric fossils and limestone formations at Stump Cross Caverns (10 minutes). To explore the dales on two legs, stroll down to Linton Falls (10 minutes’ walk) from your pitch and follow the Dales Way down to Hebden Suspension Bridge (half an hour). For wild dales views, circumnavigate the lake at Grimwith Reservoir (five minutes’ drive), and for more demanding hikes, follow the way-marked route up to the top of Simon’s Seat (20 minutes) to look out over Barden Fell.
