Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Location to the beach was excellent

Disliked: Reception was rude on arrival. Toilet block was dated and in a sorry condition. I was allocated pitch 32 and arrived to find someone else was in the pitch. Pitches opposite were noisy came back from club house at 1am and carried on partying until 3am swearing and laughing very loudly. I was only booked 3 nights but left after 1 night.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Good sized pitches. Ladies toilets clean. As its a family site, some noise from bar/pool is expected but not too bad.

Disliked: Signage to Reception and touring site is appalling. We visited off season and found nowhere to park whilst signing in, had to reverse unit out of carpark. Very loud 'neighbours' until 3.30am on the weekend. No security guards or barriers. Toilet/shower block nowhere near pitches. Gents had no soap from Friday to Monday.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Liked almost everything about the site. The staff are extremely accommodating and helpful. Site was lovely and clean. the visual site of all the cleaner and litter pickers was good to see. There are a few tweaks that can be made. Like updating the park. There is very little on the park for disabled children as is my grandson.

Disliked: The waste water was quite high to empty our water butt. Water in shower was a little cold.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Absolutely nothing about the site it's self. The beach is the only plus but that's doesn't belong to the site.

Disliked: I really don't know where to start. Quite literally by some considerable distance the worst place I have EVER stayed at. The place is filthy, showers not working in the male and female blocks, the unisex ones absolutely vile. Toilets with no loo roll, door locks broken, drain holes without proper covers, bins overflowing with rubbish and food. Our pitch, which we'd booked as a grass pitch but was essentially hardcore and stones was scattered in rubbish, toothpicks, vapes, fag butts, even an old pram. The pool closed early Saturday for a maintenance issue, a minor issue if isolated but only added to our frustration. The complex area is filthy, covered in rubbish outside and has music booming out until gone midnight on a family site and the camping area is literally next to it! We had planned on eating in the restaurant on Sunday afternoon but didn't even order a drink after seeing what it was like. The place looks to have had zero investment for at least the last 5 years and is ran by exhausted, overworked, under staffed people who are clearly numb to the chaos unfolding Infront of them. We arrived a day late due to storm Lillian and left a day early meaning it cost us £203 for 1 night camping. Would not return if I was paid to. I have posted a Google review and have posted on UK camping (214k members) on Facebook with photos to back it up. It's had 160 interactions within a matter of hours. I will not be chasing a refund, just making sure as many people as possible don't make my mistake and set foot in the place. It needs closing down.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: The site is really big which gave us plenty of walks for the grandchildren

Disliked: We booked a grass pitch as grandchildren were sleeping in the awning. We were given a hard standing pitch. As we booked with pitch up and not direct they wouldn’t talk to us. School holidays so expected it to be busy. The pot wash was quite a distance to carry all the pots so had to do it in 3 runs. The toilets /showers weren’t great, very dark, not very clean and showers were very dirty, there were items of clothing lots of razors, hair balls left in showers and flooded floors. Would not return.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Everything was easy to get to. The swimming pool team was great especially Jess & Ella. The arcade team was good especially Jack who never stopped. Couldn't fault them. Tony 1 of the park maintenance was really helpful. Thanks guys. The kids felt safe to wonder & play and the climb down the small cliff to the beach was easier than expected. Only 10mins from withernsea with Aldi & Tesco.

Disliked: Ok more niggles than dislikes. On a couple of days the pool was really cold. To the point my kids were shivering. Defo needs to be warmer! The music was louder in my caravan than in the club house which gave my 4 & 7 yr old FOMO lol & was hard work getting them to sleep. The waste water point was difficult as I had to lift it onto a step then onto the edge of the hole to empty it & it all just came out round the edge as if it needed emptying. I did report it. No signal. Oh the 1st couple days we were covered in tiny black bugs which apparently happen about 4x a year when farmers cut the fields.

Local attractions

York’s many attractions cater to all tastes: history hounds, culture vultures, wannabe Vikings, shopaholics, and train- and plane- spotters. Scale the soaring heights of the Minster, plough the gory depths of the dungeons, or lose all sense of direction in the massive York Maze… Hull (35 minutes' drive) is well worth a visit, for its fab aquarium, transport and maritime museums, Ferens Art Gallery, and William Wilberforce House. Visitors can also go messing around on various boats, including the Spurn Lightship, and then there’s the ice rink, great shopping, theatres and more. Another recommendation is to work your way along the Yorkshire coastline, to sample the spooky drama of Whitby Abbey, the classic seaside attractions of Scarborough, and the beaches at Bridlington and Hornsea. Nature buffs can make for the huge white cliffs of Flamborough Head, home to thousands of nesting seabirds; other options for ornithologists include the North Cave Wetlands, or Spurn Point. For the kids, try Flamingo Land theme park, get out the wellies for a trip to Honeysuckle Farm in Hornsea, or let them Go Ape in the treetops in Dalby Forest. The area is peppered with golf courses and equestrian centres too: for something a bit different, guests can book in for a beginner’s polo lesson at Beverley Polo Club nearby. Other options include sailing, rowing, fishing and boat tours at Hornsea Mere (30 minutes), taking in a footie or rugby match in Hull, or feeling lucky (perhaps) at the horse racing of York and Beverley.
