  • Well-equipped family holiday park on the East Yorkshire coast
  • Hornsea beach 10 minutes' drive away; 40 minutes to Hull
  • Indoor pool, spa, restaurant and theatre on site, plus beach access
Bike rides, beach days, pool splashing, spa relaxing, fishing, golf, city days, country walks… and that’s just the start of the list of things you can get up to while staying at Skirlington Leisure Park, in a fine spot on the East Yorkshire coast between Skipsea and Atwick. It’s safe to say that, whatever your interests, you’re extremely unlikely to get bored at this family-friendly park, which has both excellent on-site facilities and heaps of things to do in the local area. When you arrive, no doubt the first thing you’ll note is the beach – this park overlooks the coast, so it’s great for a day on the sand or a coastal dog walk (dogs being welcome at the park, by the way). Look in the other direction and it’s all countryside, with plenty of paths and bridleways for easy walks and more adventurous bike rides. Pony trekking, sailing and watersports are all nearby too, and there’s a 9-hole golf course and driving range next door. Being out and about is excellent, but then so is staying on site – leisure facilities here include a heated indoor pool (with a fun mushroom water feature), a fishing lake, a well-equipped gym, a spacious playground and a spa area with sauna, steam room and hot tub. And if you’re a bit hungry after all that, you can either pick up snacks at the on-site convenience store, grab a takeaway from the fish and chip shop or take a table at the bar-restaurant for one of their tasty stone-baked pizzas and drink or two. Take a look at the schedule for the Pavilion Theatre, too – there’s live music, in-house shows and speciality acts to catch here.

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: Site was quiet, birds and rabbits to watch and the food in the wonkey donkey wasn't bad.

Disliked: Young children on fast electric bikes with no road sense, if you go be very careful.
3 grubby shower blocks all lacking toilet paper. We came home on Wednesday, on Monday night they closed 1 block for a refurb. The next nearest had no hot water and talcum powder all over the showers. We reported it Tuesday morning but it was the same Tuesday evening. We had to walk across to the furthest block to get hot water. Still lacking toilet roll in many stalls and the hair dryer wasn't working. Many of the toilets were dirty. It doesn't look like it gets cleaned very often despite the notice saying otherwise. One very important point in a campsite is clean showers and toilets and I'm afraid Skirlington just doesn't cut it.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m really sorry to hear about your recent experience and the issues you encountered during your stay.

Clean and well-maintained shower and toilet facilities are absolutely essential at any campsite, and I sincerely apologise that we fell short in this area. Your comments regarding the lack of toilet paper, hot water, and general cleanliness have been shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams for urgent review. It’s particularly disappointing to hear that a reported issue remained unresolved, and this is something we are actively investigating to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

We also take guest safety very seriously, including concerns about the use of electric bikes. We are currently reviewing our park rules and enforcement around e-bike and scooter use to ensure the safety of all guests, particularly younger visitors.

Please know that your feedback is incredibly valuable, and while I’m sorry we didn’t meet expectations this time, we are committed to making improvements

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Everything. No WiFi. Club house was a no-go zone due to people fighting & one threatening to "cut someone". Occupants in/around us were using our pitch & campervan as a football pitch, with the ball bouncing off our van at all hours. Others were drinking from 9am, fighting/brawling on our pitch by 3pm. Screaming kids everywhere on e-scooters & e-bikes racing around every pitch. The toilets were overflowing & run out of toilet roll every day for the three days we stayed, & then we left as we had enough, loosing out on 2 more nights that I had paid for.
There wasn't any fire-breaks/devices between the pitches, & it was like a cattle market.
The on site "supermarket" had nothing to suit anyone with any sort of dietary requirements.
& there are not even any footpaths off the site, just grass verges, so you have to drive anywhere to leave the site.
1 star is too much.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and I’m truly sorry to hear about your recent experience with us.

We aim to provide a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all our guests, so I’m very disappointed to hear that this wasn’t your experience. Please accept our sincere apologies for the issues you encountered, particularly around noise, behaviour of other guests, and the standard of our facilities. This is not the level of service or environment we aim to provide.

Your comments about WiFi, the toilet facilities, pitch safety, and the general atmosphere have been noted and will be reviewed in full by our management team. We also take concerns about guest behaviour seriously and will be following up with our security and operations teams to ensure stronger measures are in place during busy periods.

With regard to the shop I appreciate your points and will share this feedback with the relevant department for future improvements.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Good location, close to Hornsea, and other costal town. Dog welcome indoor, new club house and arcade, drink not badly priced. Good shop and chip shop on site, good out play area for younger children

Disliked: No beach access, a bit too much security, toilet blocks need upgrades

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Clean site with plenty of facilities and well placed for lots of day trips!

Disliked: Its a shame we couldn't get near to the beach from the site (there are big cliffs) but thats a very minor point! If siting an awning you also need sturdy rock pegs....

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your great review! We're so glad you enjoyed the clean site, our facilities, and found us well located for day trips — there’s certainly lots to explore nearby! We understand your comment about beach access; the cliffs do make it tricky, but we're glad it didn’t take away from your stay. And yes, rock pegs are definitely a must for the awnings! We hope to welcome you back again soon. -Unity Skirlington Coast

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: Pitch sizes are great and level. And first impression was great, soon changed. Market.

Disliked: Well where do I start
No proper grey waste points
Either broken or no hoses to clean toilet cassette
Lack of usable drinking water points, ones near pitches have rediculous taps
Toilets dirty/blocked
Sinks all leak on floor
No Hot water in showers on several occasions
Bins around road generally overflowing onto roads.
No site wifi unless in restaurant area

Electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked: Great site. Entertainment and leisure facilities were great. kids loved the kids entertainment and the food in the restaurant was fabulous!

Disliked: Shower block for touring pitches needs a few repairs. Ladies showers didn't work and the men's were cold water. So used the other shower block which was very clean and showers worked and were hit.
