Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Very quiet site, nice large pitches, clean facilities, very friendly owner. Somewhat basic; exactly as expected and facilities had all you needed.

From the manager: Hi Samuel,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're pleased that you enjoyed your stay and it was described through pitch up :). We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer, Callum and Sarah

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked I'm writing this review on behalf of my friend Dave, who recently stayed at your campsite. What he liked the most was the large pitch size. Callum was very helpful, kind and welcoming and went out of his way to advise and offer support as he was travelling on his own. Thanks very much for the ice packs, much appreciated and look forward to returning and all the best. Dave.

Disliked Lighting to show where campsite was because he got lost. Illuminated sign perhaps?

From the manager: Hi Sally,

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review for Dave. We're really pleased that he enjoyed his stay and was able to explore the local area. With regard to illuminating the signs on arrival this is something we can certainly look into and check with the council to see if this would be permitted. There is lighting on the campsite for when it gets darker but unfortunately not on the roadside at the moment. We hope Dave enjoys the rest of his summer and look forward to welcoming him back. Many thanks, Callum and Sarah

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Level pitches, we chose fully serviced. Hard surface for the van, and grass for the awning.
Site was quiet and peaceful, and near to many local attractions and several foody pubs.
Toilet block was clean and comfortable, and the owner stopped by for a chat.

Disliked There is no reception on site. All arrival information was conveyed efficiently by email, but the site was somewhat lacking in character. I would think that the toilet facilities may be limited if the site had high occupancy.

From the manager: Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, we're really pleased
that you enjoyed the quietness of the site and found the pitches to level
:).

When booking it is clearly stated that there is *no reception desk *on site
so we do encourage guests to read through the available information so not
to be disappointed on arrival. As a new site we will continue to monitor
the use of the facilities but so far on bank holiday weekends when we have
been full this issue has yet to be raised, however, we are looking into
possibly getting a portaloo for busier times; we're pleased you found the
toilets cleans and respectable when you used them. We hope you have a
lovely summer, Callum and Sarah

Liked We really liked this campsite, lots of walking, cycling routes straight from the site, lots of space and peaceful, good place for access to the coast including Southwold.

Disliked Nothing

From the manager: Hi Karen, thank you for taking the time to writ a review for us. We're glad you enjoyed the peaceful site and also all the local area has to offer. If you do ever come and see us again there is plenty more to do just ask for some 'what to do' advice! Have a love summer, Sarah and Callum.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely family fun campsite. A few days before a welcome pack was emailed with all information you could possibly need along with a list of places to visit and recommendations for food and drink.
The site was really well maintained, there was a secure off lead dog area. The facilities were really clean and tidy.

Disliked Nothing was all great!

From the manager: Good morning Sophie,

Thank you for your review and feedback :) We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay and that you had a lovely time. Best wishes, Callum and Sarah

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked We had a lovely stay at Henstead Fields. Nice, flat, even pitches. There is hardstanding for the caravan, with grassed areas for the awnings.
The dog run area is a welcome facility, and there is a good bridleway at the side of the field if you want a good walk.
It's a very peaceful area, but well within reach of Southwold, Lowestoft, Africa Alive and more. The owner Callum was friendly and helpful, and recommended some lovely local beaches. Toilet facilities were spotless. We stayed for 4 nights, but wished we'd booked for longer.

From the manager: Good morning David,

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and managed to explore the local area and the lovely things it has to offer. Thank you so much for your review it really does help us and other people looking for a campsite. Hope you both have a great summer.

Non-electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked Remote location
Easy to find.
Really well kept
Separate fenced dog garden
Very clean shower/ toilet cubicles.
Plenty of space on the pitch
Friendly owners
Easy booking and checking in

Disliked Minor details:
Could have more hooks/ ledges in the cubicles.
Separate toilets would be helpful.
Couldn’t have fire pit but was understandable.

From the manager: Dear Jenny, Thank you for your review :). We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and you had a good time. Callum is now looking for more hooks to put up in the shower block as I type so hopefully they'll be installed in the next couple of weeks! Unfortunately the toilets is something we cannot change at the moment but moving forward when we do develop the shower block we will definitely consider increasing the number of the toilets from the 4 we have in separate rooms currently.
Hopefully, we'll see you again. have a great summer.

Local attractions

There’s bags going on for the whole family in lively Southwold (15 minutes’ drive); you can take high-speed boat rides around the North Sea coastline, discover the amusements along the famed pier, or have a potter around the old harbour. Adnams Brewery is open for guided tours and tastings of its wares, and also offers the chance to explore the landmark lighthouse that dominates the town. If you’re into high-octane action, try skydiving at Ellough (10 minutes) but if that sounds a bit scary, book hacks at the local riding school (five minutes) or make for Oulton Broad (15 minutes) for kayaking and sailing. You can also go paddleboarding along the River Waveney from Beccles (15 minutes). Get (quite) up close and personal with Big Five animals like lions and rhinos at Africa Alive (10 minutes), or sneak a bit of history into your kids with visits to Framlingham Castle (40 minutes) and the eccentric Tudor-era Orford Tower (45 minutes). If your offspring are still game on for more culture, Somerleyton Hall (half an hour) has colourful landscaped gardens and impressive Victorian architecture.
