Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked: Just got back from wheat Hill campsite a lovely little camp perfect and peaceful with spectacular views and the lake, the campsite was kept immaculate , it was so lovely waking up in the morning to those views the showers and toilet facilities were also kept very clean and updated, the washing up area has also hot running water, Sarah such a lovely lady can't do enough for you ,very hard working by the looks of things she would bring us logs in the evening as they have log burners which is a very nice little touch £10 but very well worth it, also it had marshmallows and fresh strawberries I will definitely be going back their, thank you Sarah for a lovely stay.

Liked: Beautiful quiet spot, great views, very well maintained, lovely clean showers and toilets, flat pitch, great washing up area with washing up liquid included. Even had a badminton set amongst other games that you could borrow. Loved the small woodland trail and nice walks straight from the site (with some hills included). Friendly owner and good communication boards on site.
Disliked: Lovely hot shower but currently no hot water at the hand basin in the toilets (sign saying this feedback has already been received and hot water coming this winter).

From the manager: Thankyou for your review and feedback, we are lucky to have miles of country walks direct from the site (and to the pub). Great to hear our information boards are positive and you enjoyed the games. We are indeed planning to add hot water to the sinks in the toilets. Look forward to welcoming you back

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Pitch was hard standing but the space for the awning had big puddles so unusable. Facilities looked aged and basic. Overpriced. We did not stay and found a site nearby that not only cheaper but far nicer. Whilst I appreciate there has been more rain than normal the site was waterlogged there has been no effort made for drainage on any part of the site. I contacted owner on the phone as was not on site to speak to. No offer of a partial refund in lieu of the state of the pitch. Definitely would not recommend. Worst site I have visited in my 30 years of camping.

From the manager: For those reading this comment it is not a true reflection of our site. When you rang me I offered you an alternative pitch but you said “we have already left” Sorry you didn’t like our site but we wish you had of stayed longer so we could of helped you. I went to the pitch an hour after your phone call and there was no puddles at all. Our facilities are only 3 years old and if you read most of our reviews they are not aged and basic, the site was not water logged, we keep our site and facilities maintained to a high standard. It’s a shame you didn’t like the site, at least everyone else had a lovely time.

Liked: Lovely views all around the campsite , well thought out and planned route to the farmers field en route to the pub , clean toilet facilities, showers could be warmer (temp is set to Luke warm) , washing up area with hot water, very quite site so loved our stay
Disliked: Not exactly a dislike, but more to make people aware , the camping field is quite high up , so gets very windy , luckily our tent is very good so withstood the strong winds , but some tents I don't think would cope with how windy it gets , our tent had metal poles so coped without any problems

From the manager: Thankyou for your review and photos, we are very lucky to have such beautiful walks to to the pub and nature walks. The showers can be adjusted so we will turn them up. It does get windy up there at times although we haven’t had any tents fly away yet 😊

Liked: What an absolute gem of a campsite! Perfect for us in every way.Very friendly and helpful owner.Immaculately kept site, including toilets and showers.Lovely chilled vibe due to ample spacing, the lake and picturesque views.Added touches which show the passion of the owner - a bench table and parasol allocated to each pitch; a small woodland area dedicated to children which has a super mud kitchen: a thoughtfully well equipped washing up area for campers; a lot of knowledge of the many country walks straight from the site (including to the pub). The pitches are laid out well to give a peaceful, not just for profit experience. Now our best campsite in the whole of Suffok. Spot on!

Liked: Another absolutely amazing weekend at wheathill Facilities are always pristine The campsite is just gorgeous, the children just love to run around and be with nature. We love that it's a small site with no frills. Children don't need a playground to have fun, wheathills I'd a natural playground. They can watch the fish and water boatman in the pond. Listen to the birds, watch the pair of kites hunting in the evening, roll around on the grassy hill, run through the woods and just have fun with nature 💚 Friendly staff always willing to help. Excellent value for money We will be back again !!
Disliked: The tap in the smaller toilet room has slightly too much pressure and soaks you if your not careful. Only a very very minor issue and is slightly funny when the 3 year old got a face full of water 🤣. The person next to us was using a drone each night, our personal feelings on this is that it is a bit intrusive and ruined the sunset for the rest of the campers. We were all sat peacefully watching it and then the next moment you have a load buzzing noise floating above your heads. Not wheathills fault, but wondering if on of the site rules could be no drones ?! As I know a farmer ran up to tell the man that the drone could scare the horses !!!

From the manager: Thankyou for your review 😁 We love that you have said we are a ‘natural playground’ and that the children enjoyed playing in nature. We have recently changed the tap as it was getting stuck down so we will look into adding a flow control valve so no one else gets soaked 🙈 Our rule on drones is to not fly them over adjacent fields as they may scare the horses. We don’t want to ban these completely but will take your comments on board.

Liked: The site itself was lovely with a lovely fishing lake, beautiful views and local walks. Very peaceful with basic clean facilities
Disliked: No wash basins in the showers. Only tiny sink in toilets which only had cold water and not enough room to wash in
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thankyou for your comments. We appreciate your feedback regarding no hot water in the toilets. We are always aiming to improve our site and this is an area we will look into for the future. Glad to hear you found the site lovely and enjoyed the beautiful walks from the site.
