  • Great Yarmouth and BeWILDerwood within a half-hour drive
  • Pubs, cafés, shops and bus stops within a few minutes' walk
What’s it to be for your Norfolk break – beach days, country walks, boating around the Broads, active adventures, city strolls, sipping cider in the pub? Mix and match as you please when you stay at Loddon Oasis Camping, a simple and friendly site in the little town of Loddon. This attractive little riverside town is a fabulously convenient one for all sorts of days out, so you should never want for things to do while you're staying here. And the site’s setting is very handy too, within just a few minutes' walk of the town’s shops, cafés, pubs, bus stops and other amenities. Dogs are welcome on site, and there’s plenty of space nearby for them (and you) to stretch legs on a riverside walk. If you're not feeling quite so active, settle on the riverbank for a bit of fishing. This small and simple site prides itself on being a friendly place with a great community spirit. Families, couples and solo adventurers are all equally welcome, and will be encouraged to rest and unwind in this lovely chilled-out location. Barbecues are permitted for those who fancy a bit of outdoor cookery, although it should be noted that there’s a fish and chip shop just over the road… As a fuss-free site, the facilities have been kept on the simple side, but you'll have access to essentials like toilets, showers and picnic tables.

What customers say

Great spot near Loddon, with friendly staff (esp. Jack). Facilities are basic but clean, with upgrades ongoing. Ground can be uneven; some found it limited when busy. Marina view not for everyone.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked This was a last minute booking so I just checked it meet my needs and looked at the rest later!
Currently there is one block of facilities available which has a shower, one standard toilet and one large toilet with a baby change. The second blank is being developed.
This is just off the main road for the village so it’s convenient for shops.
The ground here is soft/sandy grass which makes pegging really easy. The ground does slope down towards the marina.
The young lass at the reception was very nice and helpful. She has small plants and jewellery for sale there too.
There are no bins on site but this is mentioned in the site info.
There also appears to be work being done on making some hard standing pitches. It’s a work in progress but is a good base camp anyway.

Disliked Minor point that the sign says marina and not camping so at first I went passed it!

Electric grass pitch

Liked Peaceful, quiet and relaxing

Disliked The noise when people were turning up with their music blaring at the boat yard but I guess that’s unavoidable

Lack of showers/toilets would be hand with some more to have less waiting time

Electric grass pitch

Liked Pleasant site in good location with Norwich, Lowestoft and Yarmouth all in easy reach. The campsite is very close to a Co op, pubs and numerous takeaway establishments. Toilets were clean as was the shower cubicle..

Disliked We arrived on a Friday and the single washing up space had no hot water and was filthy and cluttered with abandoned pots and pans. We left the site five days later and nothing had changed.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Fantastic location. Loddon has 3 pubs, a co-op, another convenience store, Boots, multiple take aways (Indian, Chinese, pizza, fish and chips) and a coffee shop. Buses to Norwich, Beccles and Lowestoft about every 30 minutes. Staff helpful when we arrived late.

Disliked Facilities let it down a bit. No bin, no elsen point. One shower and two toilets. Would have been ok but twice ‘couples’ went in the shower, locked the outside door and spent ages in there. On a hill and ground uneven. WiFi hit and miss and poor mobile signal in the whole village.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Easy walk to village with plenty of eateries and pubs. Nice walks along river

Disliked Toilet block(shed) was poor. It was clean but rarely had toilet roll. Ground was lumpy and sloping. Grass needed to be mowed. Rubbish area near marina was overflowing.Booked and paid on line and no one greeted us on arrival. One day was very noisy with repair work to the toilet block. Chose the site to see a different area of the Broads

Electric grass pitch

Liked We enjoyed a quiet night at this tranquil site. It’s a bit of a "rustic" experience with plenty of molehills and sloping ground, so leveling blocks are a must. While the amenities are basic, they are well-maintained and clean.

Liked Lovely village very convenient. Takeaways a minutes walk away and some nice pubs.

Disliked Site needed some TLC. Rubbish on the ground and muddy. Views weren’t great and it felt like a scrap yard at times. Hole in shower room floor covered by Lino. Owners didn’t seem active in cleaning it up or mowing grass etc

Local attractions

One of the major draws in Norfolk is The Broads National Park – and you'll easily be able to explore the waterways from here, perhaps hiring a boat from Loddon Marina or canoes from Beccles (15 minutes' drive). Walks and bike rides are equally rewarding in these landscapes, and there are loads of woodland activities and adventures to throw into the mix at BeWILDerwood Norfolk (half an hour). The coast is just as enticing of course; top spots nearby include Great Yarmouth (25 minutes) for an action-packed day at the beach and amusements, or Winterton-on-Sea (40 minutes) for a quieter wander through the dunes. Heading inland instead, Norwich (25 minutes) has a castle and cathedral, plus lots of indie shops and places to eat. Keeping the kids busy should be a cinch around here, what with the likes of Africa Alive (25 minutes), Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park (half an hour) and Pettitts Animal Adventure Park (35 minutes) to visit. For grownup days, try Chet Valley Vineyard (five minutes), Henstead Exotic Gardens (20 minutes) or Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum (20 minutes).
