  • Well-maintained site with excellent facilities
  • A few miles from the Norfolk coast
  • Sixteen luxury bathrooms on site with individual showers and loos
Have you ever been to the Norfolk coast? Pine-ing to return or to see it for the first time? Come and stay at Pine Cones Caravan and Camping, near King's Lynn inland and Heacham and Hunstanton on the coastline – this is such a royally good region that King Charles and his cohorts have a pad at Sandringham just a mile away. If the king were camping, it's a fairly safe bet he would like the up to date and excellently kept amenities at Pine Cones too: 16 warm luxury bathrooms, all with their own shower, toilets, basin and storage racks; a roomy, indoors washing-up area with several sinks and plenty of drainer space; and a washing machine and dryer in a separate room to sort out the laundry. Once the essentials are sorted, send the kids off to the adventure playground to try out the treehouse, rope ladders and high level walkway, and settle down in the picnic area with coffee and eats… there's a coffee machine on site and the well-stocked shop sells a good selection of items including bread, milk, and fresh and frozen food. A selection of outdoor gym equipment is also available for the energetic holidaymaker. Off site, Pine Cones is about a mile from the nearest pub the Feathers, or trot off to award-winning the Coach and Horses. Both are in nearby Dersingham village, where there's also a supermarket, takeaway and coffee shop dishing up homemade cakes daily.

Liked: This is our second visit to this site and it is very handy to get to many places. Dog friendly and lovely walks from site. Very clean facilities and very helpful and friendly staff. We enjoyed a cooked breakfast and there was a wide choice of other food on the menu and also Bens Bar.

Sandy Acres electric grass and sand pitch

Liked: Showers and toilets, general site tidiness and accessibility of amenities

Disliked: Power trips out a little too often on the grass pitches. It can be a bit dodgy crossing the road to go into Dersingham

Pine Views fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (comfort)

Liked: Facilities (super clean, warm, quantity) , location, Norfolk Nibbles (wow), service pitch with picnic hut. After having recently switching from a tent to a motorhome and not really camping since COVID we didn't know what to expect on a campsite after learning that campsite etiquette had been lost it was refreshing to see that things were mostly back to the courteous pastime of considerate camping. Pinecones are environmentally responsible with Solar arrays, etc whilst pampering to the modern way of life with dog washes, WiFi etc. We've already decided we'll be going back again, yes it's pricey when compared to what we'd become acustomed to but none the less I'd rather support this site than a club charging more and providing less.

Disliked: We didn't have more time to spend there.

Pine views fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch (medium)

Liked: Spacious pitches (even on the smallest). Facilities are great - probably the best camping shower I’ve ever had. Warm and without having to push a button every 9 seconds. Loved that the pitches are fully serviced and that there is a late check-in facility. Within a 15 ish minute walk to two pubs - THE COACH AND HORSES is recommended for food. It’s been recently refurbished. We avoided The Feathers due to poor food reviews (despite it looking lovely on the outside). We didn’t get to use the bar on site as it was open 10-3 and we were out and about. Do like that they sell food, drink, breakfast items there though. This site is within walking distance of Sandringham where we walked around the lovely woods there. We will definitely be back!

Disliked: There is some road noise, but that can’t be helped.

Pine Views camping pod

Liked: I planned a last minute trip to the seaside for me, my 7 year old and the dog. We stayed in the pods and whilst basic and a little tired it was a cosy and fun stay. They are equipped with a toaster, kettle and little oven/hob. The facilities are great, showers and toilets are modern, warm and clean and not far to walk from the pods. I thought we might be cold as its October but I had to switch the heating off as we were so toasty. Great location for a walk to Sandringham and the site staff who are really friendly gave us some laminated directions and it's just a few minute drive to the beach. We had a great time and will definitely go back.

Pine Views fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: The toilets are well maintained & clean. Wi Fi was working & consistent (not the fastest), but good enough for the kids to watch TV. Central location for exploring the North Norfolk area. Its a quiet site. Pitches truely are level.

Disliked: Parking was a bit of an issue, neighbours were parking over pitch boundaries. Traffic can be a bit loud during peak communiting times, i've heard worse!

Pine Views fully-serviced grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Returned today from an amazing break at Pine Cones, what an absolute gem. The site is immaculate with amazing attention to detail and caters for everything you could possibly need to make your holiday perfect. Travelled with our 3 year old Grandson who enjoyed the playpark and picking up pine cones. Well situated for the coast, Hunstanton is about a 10-15 min drive, Sandringham is well worth a visit. The site is on a busy main road but it didn't cause too much of a problem. All in all an amazing site in the countryside near the coast and according to our Grandson we will definitely be back. Well done to all the staff at Pine Cones Caravan and Camping

Liked: Well separated pitches, good layout. Quiet site with easy access to lots of local attractions. Off lead dog area very handy and easy to get onto local walking tracks. Private bathrooms made it easy to shower and change, but could do with more ventilation as always felt like someone had just had a shower. Loved the radio being played in bathrooms.

Local attractions

Beaches, historic houses, museums and festivals, tiny villages, market towns and fab family days out are all easily accessible from Pine Cones Caravan and Camping – after a day at Sandringham, but of course, to wave at the king first... Within a couple of miles, the deer safaris, farming activities and walking trails of Snettisham Deer Park and the sights and smells of Norfolk Lavender are both good options for a day out; Snettisham has an RSPB reserve too for those itching to twitch. But as you're probably in west/north Norfolk for the beaches, head to Heacham, Holkham and Hunstanton first, the closest sands to Pine Cones, and then take a trip to Brancaster 11 miles away; the family-friendly and very scenic sands of Sheringham, Cromer and Mundsley are a little further along the coast. (Also, the final scenes of Shakespeare in Love were filmed at Holkham, and all the beaches in these parts are fairly filmworthy, so bring your camera.) Other excellent options for days out include village hopping and shopping among the scenic sights of Dersingham, Holt, Fakenham, Aylsham and Burnham Market to pick up some local produce, or going along to one of Norfolk's festivals or events: there's usually something going on throughout the year. Pine Cones is also on the edge the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – bring walking boots, crabbing nets and plenty of room for picnics.
