  • Multi award-winning site in the Norfolk Broads
  • Within 20 minutes' drive of Great Yarmouth, Horsey Gap and Sea Palling
  • Miniature golf, cycle hire, tennis, café-bar-restaurant and play areas
This family-run holiday park in the Norfolk Broads is bound to be a handy base for getting out and exploring the coast and countryside. Set within a peaceful woodland within the national park, Clippesby Hall has scenic wooded surroundings, high-quality facilities and – get this – it's also only a 20-minute drive from the seaside resort of Great Yarmouth and 35 minutes from the historic city of Norwich. The park lies in a nature-rich area with woodland glades, mature gardens and peaceful green spaces. The modern reception and BASECAMP complex houses a café-bar-restaurant serving everything from full English breakfasts to stonebaked pizzas, plus a shop for essentials. Modern shower facilities (spacious, bright and impeccably maintained) are another convenience. Spend your downtime flitting between the varied leisure facilities: there’s an 18-hole mini golf course, cycle hire and tennis courts directly on site. Kids can also let off steam at the adventure playground, where there are zipwires and a climbing wall, or at the two other on-site play areas.

What customers say

This tidy campsite gets thumbs up for its roomy, neat spots, lovely woods and lekker staff. Guests liked the modern, clean ablutions, private family loos and the well-kitted Basecamp bar/eatery with hearty meals. Activities include zip lines, mini golf, and trails. Some small gripes: loos are a trek, Wi-Fi is spotty, and some pitches get soft when wet.

Not disappointed it’s beautiful. Surrounded by trees. Everywhere so clean and tidy. Showers kept clean and everything you need. A shop selling the essentials. Can’t fault it, will go again.

Rabbit's Grove fully-serviced hardstanding pitch

Liked Staff really friendly. Lovely big, spacious pitch surrounded by trees. Lovely clean toilets and showers. They even have a bath in the family cubicle. Used restaurant in Basecamp. Really big portions and very tasty. Lovely lounge area to chill and have a drink. Mini crazy golf. Lovely outside seating area. Little shop selling essentials. Whole site was really clean and well looked after. Felt like we were camping in a forrest! Lots of wildlife, bunnies and birds.

The Meadow fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The site was very nice, except the trees made it difficult to get on and off pitch. The staff where lovely. Showers good.

Disliked Having no WiFi only in the reception and bar area . Nothing gluten-free in shop area. To far away for buses so having no car made it difficult to go anywhere

South Park electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Loved everything about this site, from how they use logs to mark out your camping pitch to how clean the site was. Perfect location for great Yarmouth. Will be staying here again in the future

Disliked The only thing I didn't like is that if you have visitors they are not allowed on site past the main building which means instead off having a chill near you tent you have to sit in the bar/restaurant

The Dell non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked - warm and strong shower
- hot water for washing up
- the design of each pitch - love the surrounding trees giving a sense of privacy and a good rabbit sighting
- Very well maintained facilities and play area
- helpful and friendly staffs

Disliked - the hair dryer generates very low heat. Would love more if a socket is installed for my own travel hair dryer.

Local attractions

There are some very fine adventures to be had once you step outside Clippesby Hall, whether you're after outdoor activities, good scenery or a family day out. The site is in the Norfolk Broads National Park and a short drive from its popular waterways, where boating, canoeing, paddleboarding or peaceful wildlife watching are the go-to activities. Hire a day boat to drift along the rivers while keeping your eyes peeled for herons and otters. There's also stunning countryside on all sides of the site, with miles of quiet lanes and woodland tracks for a gentle walk or longer ramble; circular routes also begin directly from the site. Meanwhile, a 15- to 20-minute drive is all it takes to reach Norfolk's wide sandy beaches, dunes and traditional seaside towns like Great Yarmouth. Those who fancy more wildlife-spotting can head to the coastal nature reserves, birdwatching hides and riverside walks. There are plenty of ideas around these parts for family activities, too, whether it's a trip to animal/adventure parks like Pettitts Animal Adventure Park (20 minutes) or historic houses and museums like the Elizabethan House Museum in Great Yarmouth (20 minutes). Of course, there's also always the option to drive to a cosy village pub or browse nearby independent shops.
