  • Quiet caravan park five minutes’ walk to Caister-on-Sea Beach, Norfolk
  • SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth and Ormesby Broad both 10 minutes’ drive
  • Hardstanding pitches with electric hook-ups; shops 10 minutes’ drive
Family-run specifically for families, Norfolk’s Grasmere Caravan Park is a quiet grassy enclave only 10 minutes’ drive – but light years in vibe – from the razzmatazz of east-coast resorts like Great Yarmouth. In fact, the site is 10 minutes’ drive from a lot of places, including Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, Joyland amusement park and Ormesby Broad, so you and the kids will never be short of something to do and see. And the list goes on, for there are several pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and specialist food shops within 10 minutes by car too, making life on site nice and easy for you. Luckily for excited kids, the beach at Caister-on-Sea is closer still, being five minutes’ stroll away from your tourer pitch, so they can soon be digging castles on the sand. Allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, the pitches are generally hard, well drained and laid with stone or granite chips. Each has its own service point with a water tap, foul water drain and electric hook-up. Please note dogs are not permitted. So you can relax knowing that your worldly goods are safe, access to the site is via a remote-controlled barrier for caravans, which is operated by staff only.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Quiet, calm, basic no-frills site. Close to seafront activities of Caister and Yarmouth. Bus stops just a short walk away. All pitches were flat with their own water, electric hook up and drain. The toilet and shower facilities, although some what tired, were checked several times a day and each one was like having your own bathroom with toilet, basin and shower in each cubicle. Fine for our short stopover while visiting family close by. We will stay here again.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Lovely and laid back, thoroughly thought out facilities. Owners were happy to be flexible, allowing us to pay as you go each day (early Sept). Friends who have motorhomed for a while (was our very first time) commented on how great it was to have water, electric and grey water waste on each pitch.

Disliked: Shower rooms had no ventilation (personal preference)

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Grasmere caravan park in our opinion is great everything you would need . Each pitch has water, ehu and drainaway. Enough shower rooms each with a basin , toilet and hot showers, push button but lots of water . Nice size pitches for caravans and motorhome , no tents allowed on this site. Quiet and local for a few shops, bus route to GT Yarmouth, beach is short walk (slowly) 15-20 mins and what a great beach , sandy but pebbly near the sea edge . 2 ice cream vans go up down for your convenience and reasonable prices (just flag the down). Lifeboat station with a gift shop and before you enter there use the cafe on the left for breakfast , lovely food very nice owner . Brilliant chippy on the high street with big portions (it's called brilliant chippy).

Disliked: Not being able to open a window to air the shower room

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: We enjoyed walks to both Caister (15 mins) and nearby beaches plus bus trips to nearby Great Yarmouth and even Norwich (the latter 1 hr by direct bus). Back in Caister there were a couple of good pubs and other eateries in the village. The site was quiet, power and water was close to our pitch, and the toilet/showers were clean and easy to use. Our host was helpful. The absence of dogs meant that we saw a hedgehog wander through the site on two separate nights.

Disliked: Nothing, except the windy weather one day.
