River Bank

  • Peaceful adults-only site on the banks of the River Severn
  • Two miles from Worcester city centre; Malvern Hills 15 minutes' drive
  • Fishing on site; riverside walk from site to city centre; near the M5
City strolls or countryside wanders – which one might you fancy while on your Worcestershire break? If the answer is ‘a bit of both, actually’ then you’ll likely find Ketch Caravan Park a most convenient spot indeed. This peaceful adults-only park with spacious pitches is on the banks of the River Severn, around two miles from Worcester city centre. A riverside footpath runs from the site to the city’s shops and attractions; alternatively you can drive it in five minutes or so. As well as providing pleasant strolls into town, the river also supplies a pretty backdrop for the site, with the Malvern Hills visible in the distance (another good place for lovely long stroll, of course). Guests can go fishing in the river directly from the site too. Getting in, out and around to local attractions is very straightforward from here: the park is handily placed close to the A4440 and only a few minutes’ drive from the M5. That makes it both a nifty stopover point on a longer motorway journey and a good place to settle for rural rambles (with a dog, if you’ve got one you’d like to bring along on holiday) and days out visiting the likes of Tewkesbury, Snowshill Manor and Evesham. Barbecues are allowed on site, and there’s a rather handy supermarket just outside the site for supplies if you don’t fancy the trip to town for dinner. As for the site’s own facilities, they include a modern amenities block with showers and toilets including a family room and wet room, a laundry room and a washing-up area. There is also a chemical disposal point on site.

What customers say

Nice riverside spot near Worcester, with clean, modern facilities & friendly staff. A bit of a walk to loos/showers due to flood prevention. Some say cubicles are small. Peaceful, with ongoing upgrades.

Liked Friendly welcome on arrival. Well maintained site throughout. Spotless shower and toilet block.
The welcome addition of the ramp from the tourer level up to the toilet block has made it so much easier than previous visits.
Such a lovely site, next to the river. Nice walk into Worcester direct from the site along the river.
There is some.traffic noise but evenso the site is peaceful.
The supermarket and B&M closeby are perfect should you forget anything
Lovely weekend, we will definitely be back

Disliked Nothing to dislike

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review — it’s always a pleasure to welcome returning guests, and we’re delighted to hear you enjoyed another peaceful stay by the river.

We’re really pleased that you found the site well maintained and the facilities spotless, and it’s great to know the new ramp has made access to the toilet block much easier on your visits. The riverside walk into Worcester is a favourite for many of our guests, so we’re glad you enjoyed it again.

The nearby shops and B&M are certainly handy, and it’s wonderful to hear you had a quiet, relaxing weekend overall.

We really appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you back for your next stay.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Nice clean site , toilet block small but clean and modern every thing you need shower and basins etc kept very clean
Very friendly staff good access to Worcester by car or foot and public transport

Disliked Could do with more water points only one tap by the one grey waste drain
Also not much lighting on site especially around the ramp to next level
My biggest surprise was children running around in toilet children were in male toilet and there was both sexes which in a small toilet block was a surprised
But especially has the site is advertised as adults only on pitch up site but clearly is not so people like myself may have booked based on adults only so this needs addressing

From the manager: Thank you for your review — we’re really pleased that you found the site clean, modern and well maintained. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the easy access into Worcester too.

We’d also like to address the points you raised:

Water points: We do have several water taps around the touring area, all marked on the map provided at check‑in. In addition to the tap beside the grey waste drain, there are taps between pitches 9 & 10, at pitch 15, at the top of the steps by pitch 22, and two at our service point.

Lighting: Lighting around the ramp is something we continue to review. Because this area is affected by winter flooding, any permanent lighting needs careful planning. It is already on our list of jobs for when the park closes at the end of October.

Children in the toilet block / adults‑only: We did have one guest with children who booked before we introduced our adults‑only rule in May, and of course we honoured that booking. Going forward, our touring pitches are adults‑only, and this is now reflected in our booking information.

We appreciate your feedback and are glad you enjoyed your stay overall. Comments like yours help us continue improving the park for future guests.

Look forward to seeing you again.

Warm regards,
Jim & Tanya

Electric grass pitch

Liked Decent sized pitch and facing the river. We live on a busy road so the distant traffic on the bridge was no bother. Nice walk for the dog in either direction. Very quiet at night. Only 5 minutes walk to Toby Carvery, Aldi etc, so very handy. Being stuck in the middle of nowhere makes me a bit stir-crazy so being on the doorstep of transport links to Worcester and having local eateries was a bit of a Godsend. The site was very clean and laid out and the shared facilities were spotless. Instant hot water in the showers! We used the ramp to access the upper level and was fine going up but as it had been raining, it can be a little bit dicey coming down with your hands full. It’s good to know that the owners live on site and can be contacted 24/7. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review — we’re really pleased you enjoyed your riverside pitch and found the site peaceful, clean and convenient for local walks, shops and eateries. It’s great to hear your dog enjoyed the riverside paths too, and that the transport links were helpful for you.

We’re also glad you found the showers hot and the facilities spotless, and that having us on site 24/7 gave you peace of mind.

Regarding the ramp, thank you for mentioning it — we’re pleased it made access easier overall. After rain it can feel a little slippery when carrying items, and we do keep a close eye on it. Improving this area is already on our winter jobs list when the park closes at the end of October.

It was a pleasure having you stay with us, and we’re delighted you’ll be coming back.

Jim & Tanya

Liked Location

Disliked Ive started staying at ketch for the convenience of the fishing river on the severn. But was disappointed to find most of the swims to fish were overgrown and not accessible

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback — we’re glad you enjoy the location and the convenience of being right by the Severn.

Just to clarify: we have five designated fishing pegs, all clearly marked with signage. These pegs are regularly maintained, kept free of vegetation, and fully accessible. They are the only areas we provide for safe fishing access — and they are very much in use. In fact, a guest landed a 14lb 14oz barbel on 4th September, which was lovely to see.

It sounds like the spots you are referring to are areas that are not part of our marked pegs. These sections are intentionally left to grow over because they are not currently safe for fishing. Once we have assessed and cleared them properly, we will decide whether they can be opened in future.

We really appreciate you raising this, as it helps us make sure guests know exactly where the designated pegs are located.

Thank you again for your review.

Liked River Bank location

Disliked Hard to find the entrance. Got stuck in Aldi car park. Very poor layout with single toilet block at higher level and only 1 ramp to get there. Only 1 chemical toilet emptying point a long way from touring pitches. A lack of facilities, male 2 toilets, 3 urinals, and 2 showers for at least 20 tourers. No WiFi and not good aerial reception. The upper layer has multiple concrete bases for static vans that aren't there with trip hazard iron tie down loops set in them. Constant road noise from bridge just above the site.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed the riverside location. We work extremely hard to maintain high standards across the park, and given the level of care and investment that goes into our facilities and daily operations, it was disappointing to receive a 1‑star review.

We would like to address the points you have raised clearly and factually:

Entrance & Aldi car park
Our entrance is marked with large, prominent signage on the main road. Unfortunately, certain sat‑nav systems can direct first‑time visitors into the Aldi car park, which is outside our control.

Toilet block layout, ramp & steps
The facilities are located on the upper level due to the riverside touring area being prone to winter flooding. Access is provided via both a ramp and a set of steps, and a designated pathway leads directly from both routes to the toilet block. This pathway is kept clear at all times. As stated in our check‑in information, guests must use the marked pathways and should not walk across empty static bases.

Chemical waste disposal
With 22 touring pitches, one chemical disposal point is entirely appropriate and more than sufficient for the size of the park. Its position at the top of the site ensures safe drainage and compliance with environmental regulations.

Number of facilities
While the number of toilets and showers may appear limited, the majority of guests use the facilities within their own caravans or motorhomes. As a result, demand in the block remains low, and we have not experienced issues with queues or availability.

WiFi & aerial reception
We do not advertise WiFi on site. Aerial reception varies depending on individual equipment and weather conditions, and many guests receive a stable signal.

Upper level concrete bases & tie‑down loops
The concrete bases are prepared for new static units arriving throughout the season. Any exposed tie‑down loops are visible, and this section is not used for touring or pedestrian access.

Road noise
Due to the park’s proximity to the bridge and main road, some traffic noise can be heard at times. This is clearly stated in our site description, and many guests feel the peaceful riverside setting outweighs this.

Thank you again for your feedback. We remain committed to maintaining and improving the park, and we believe it is important to provide an accurate and balanced response for future guests.

Local attractions

Presumably you’ll want to start in Worcester – and that’s a good choice, whether you amble along the riverbank or take the five-minute drive. Once you’re in the city centre, stop by at the cathedral and the Tudor House Museum for a sense of the area’s history and admire the pretty pieces on display at the Museum of Royal Worcester. There’s more history to be explored at places like the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings (20 minutes’ drive), where you can see a collection of restored and rebuilt buildings of various kinds, and the smart Eastnor Castle (half an hour) and Snowshill Manor and Gardens (40 minutes). Meanwhile, music buffs can follow the Elgar Route to take in some of the scenery that inspired the composer and see some of the places where he lived and worked. For some outdoor time, explore the grounds of Spetchley Park Gardens (five minutes), which has been in the same family for over 400 years, or head to the highest point in the Malvern Hills at Worcestershire Beacon (20 minutes).
