Liked: Very pretty Motorhome area, beautifully kept with lawns and ornamental trees. Even deer sculptures on the lawn! My first solo van trip and I felt safe and comfortable. Zoe and John were friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: A joy to stay on this site, we had a beautiful pitch, the facilities were immaculate with the bonus of single bathrooms. Everyone very friendly and so peaceful, just woke up to birdsong. A fantastic base to explore. If we visit this area again, this will definitely be our go to site. Can’t recommend it enough.

Disliked: Although it wasn’t a problem for us there is a reasonably steep walk to the bathrooms.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: The peaceful, tranquility of the site. Even though the MH pitches are near the entrance to the park we rarely if ever noticed vehicles entering and leaving. The staff we encountered were all friendly, welcoming and helpful. Don't think you can ask for much more. Although the facilities were a little walk from the pitches they were definitely worth the effort, with large self-contained cubicles offering WC, basin and shower in one place - great idea. Lovely and clean too. The local area offers plenty of interest for a two or three day stay. The riverside walk into Stourport, the canal basin, even a funfair should that float your boat. While the town feels a little tired we certainly found enough to do while we were there. We would recommend the Old Rose and Crown for food and it is within walking distance of the site.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: The effort the staff put into the grounds is reflected in its lovely presentation. It really is a lovely spot. I was welcomed at my pitch and shown the facilities and given an option to use any pitch as other tourers weren’t arriving until the day after me, so I jumped into the 3rd one in upon entering the site which was nice and level. I took a 25 minute walk along the river to arrive at the town where I found a local pub and grabbed a meal and a beer before walking back, this time via the main road (footpath all the way and 25 minutes again). Tescos is in town as well so that’s really handy for any supplies. No wi-fi, but I knew that when I booked but the 4G signal was good as was my TV signal. My overnight stay was peaceful and undisturbed. The shower block/toilets facilities were immaculately clean and a short walk up a slope up by the site office. Access via a key coded lock (code given to you on both email and a note upon arrival). I found the booking notes on email very useful. Unfortunately I was given a heads up about there being an issue being attended to with the showers and there was no hot water early morning (6.15 am). This did not spoil my visit the cold shower soon woke me up :) I hope to return in the summer.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike for me - I enjoyed my stay and it was a nice visit. I do underhand that some with mobility issues may struggle with the slope up to shower facilities.

Local attractions

Stroll along the canal to the town of Stourport-on-Severn (and past moored boats that will make you seethe/weep with envy) for shops, restaurants and a riverside recreation area with pleasure rides, crazy golf, bowling, putting greens and self-drive boats. Stourport was once a thriving inland port, and the Stourport Canal Basins tell the tale of their heyday in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. They've recently been restored and now have pubs, cafés and restaurants to sup in and watch the boats going through the locks, as well as their five basins with listed houses and warehouses alongside around a hundred narrowboats and yachts. Also nearby for heritage hunters are the Severn Valley Railway, Bewdley Working Museum, Hartlebury Castle (with the Worcestershire County Museum), Witley Court and Harvington Hall. Ancientness of a natural sort is highly recommended at Wyre Forest, while wildlife hunters can trek around the West Midlands Safari Park for over 165 species, a safari drivethrough and a theme park.
