Electric grass pitch (sloping)
Liked: We made this booking at the last minute as we'd been stuck in traffic travelling home from Cornwall. The couple that met us were exceedingly helpful, keeping reception open for our late arrival and even towing our van up a slight incline to our pitch. Once I explained that we had an 8 and 4 year old, they tried to place us as close to the swing park as possible which was a nice touch. We didn't go to the clubhouse but the toilet & shower block was very clean and tidy. The pitches were more than ample sized and having your own drinking water point on your pitch was brill. Despite there being lots of kids out playing football, the noise was brought right down at around 9:30pm, I imagine this had something to do with the couple on reception, as they'd already been out to confront a family who'd brought a transit van full of extra guests. We had a perfect 4G (O2) signal so didn't sample the wifi.

Non-electric grass pitch (sloping)
Liked: A beautiful site for their core business, with excellent facilities.
Disliked: ‘Slightly sloped’ pitch was in-fact a steep embankment, and completely waterlogged and therefore inaccessible as our 2 pitches were the furthest back possible. Therefore I feel they are miss-sold. Upon arrival we were offered a tow, and asked whether we would be “coming back and fore?”. Once I confirmed we would be, we were told we could spend the first night on the carpark, which was not a workable option for us as the camper was full of camping equipment. Staff were friendly but originally their only other solution was “you’re welcome to change your dates” which I found a little insulting after a 2.5 hour drive to get there. Eventually we were allowed to pitch up at the entrance, which was extremely waterlogged and remained so for the duration. I appreciate they can not control the weather however they fully know that the pitches aren’t suitable in rainy conditions (staff confirmed that Easter had been a mud bath) and feel they should have informed me before arrival, and given I only booked the day before, they should have closed off bookings. Had I been able to book another site then and there I would have left but sadly this was not possible. The non-electric pitches seem like an afterthought and an attempt to make additional income aside from their core business (being static and seasonal pitches) and that no real thought has gone into the suitability of them in the offering. In contrast the electric grass pitches are mostly sited on the flat part of the field, along the boundaries and at the start of the embankment and are therefore far more accessible. We were not the only family affected, with 3 others having to use make-do pitches on our first night, and them contacting and moving many more dates further into our stay, along with 1 being pitched on the carpark. The photos show the extent of the embankment and our pitches were supposed to be BEHIND the very back 2 blue tents. Both sloped accesses were too steep to drive up to get there. I also felt that staff could have been more accommodating and offered us pitches on the flat, and therefore accessible parts of the field, just off the road entrance to the seasonal pitches, but were unwilling to.

Electric grass pitch (sloping)
Liked: We were given a position within the Seasonal Pitches due to wife's health issues. Brilliant location for visiting Gloucester, Worcester, Tewkesbury, Upton on Severn, as none were further than 30 minutes away. Very clean and tidy and helpful staff.
Disliked: Being given a much better pitch than the normal touring pitches was very welcome but absolutely no privacy as we were on a pointed end of land so had 'on-lookers' on 3 sides.

Liked: Entrance area was tidy and welcoming, staff friendly and helpful. Site was clean including toilet and shower block and in a great setting with amazing wildlife. Felt safe when solo camping with friends and security on site.
Disliked: Shower and toilet block quite small, not enough showers, water was not always boiling hot and they were quite small as there are no changing rooms or anything. Disliked showers being in the same room as the toilets. Only one hairdryer, not well lit at night if camping as they are located nearer to the caravans. Although tent pitches were allocated on arrival and seemed organised, there was not a lot of room on the pitches even when camping and I would have liked more choice such as being near a tree or hedge rather than in the middle of the field. The site is sloped but did not cause any issues as we were on flatter ground so unsure if being higher up would be an issue especially during wet weather. Would be nice to have a little shop and visitor area to add to the experience. The gate closed quite early at 9 and had to pay refundable £30 deposit cash for a gate fob or ring reception to be let back in. I thought the river was on site but could not see it which would have been nice.
