Glamping pod at stratford parks

  • Scenic riverside park with a river taxi to Stratford-upon-Avon centre
  • Over a mile and a half of free fishing on the River Avon
  • Riverside Venue Bar and Restaurant and a multi-sports pitch on site
Imagine drifting past weeping willows, verdant banks and genteel swans in your own private river taxi, before stepping off in the centre of stunning Stratford-upon-Avon only a mile away. If this sounds like the kind of thing dreams are made of, take a look at Stratford Parks Holiday Park, a peaceful and plant-filled site on the River Avon in the Warwickshire countryside. The park's Riverside Venue Bar and Restaurant has a delicious variety of food and drink, as well as events throughout the high season and on some weekends. There's a multi-sports pitch on site for family games and over a mile and half of free river fishing for those who want to spend a peaceful afternoon on the river banks. A daily river taxi service also runs from Stratford Parks Holiday Park to Stratford-upon-Avon, where there are Shakespeare attractions and lots of places to eat or shop. Arriving with a furry companion? There are also designated dog-walking areas on site.

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Large pitch area, everyone is staggered so you are not necessarily facing back to back. Site is very well maintained, toilet and shower block very clean and tidy despite looking old. The club house is fantastic, large with balcony views, plenty of space on the ground level with additional bars for peak season demand. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the food is very good.

Nice riverside walks, very dog friendly site, walk time into Stratford 30mins, 10mins on bike or 25 mins using the riverside taxi.

Really enjoyed our stay here will come back again.

Richard the maintenance chap is a credit to the campsite team, works no stop to keep the facilities clean and tidy.

Disliked No shop on site to purchase essentials such as bread, milk etc

Having to pay for WiFi.

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked The friendly greeting at reception and by the warden who directed us to our pitch. He kindly allowed us to be sited next to our friend too.
Despite the amount of children & dogs on site, the site was very peaceful. I also have to comment on the cleanliness of the site too. Not one piece of litter was seen.
The pitches are grassy & well maintained. There's a wheelchair friendly path that runs around the whole site.
The clubhouse was great! A choice of 2 restaurants, reasonably priced food and drinks served by very friendly staff.
A bit of a faff to get a mobility scooter into the lift but that maybe due to me being a 'learner'!
Take advantage of the boat ride into town. Its only £3pp and the captain gives you a guided tour of the riverbank!

Disliked Although the showers were very clean and cleaned regularly they are in need of some updating. I.e. the grouting needs either a good clean or, in our view, replacing.
Of you're booking a 'Riverside' pitch please be aware you are NOT beside the river.
Other than that we can't fault the place.

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked From the moment we arrived everyone was so friendly, was greeted by a lovely gentleman who took us to our pitch on his buggy. Gave us a run down on the site and left us to it. The pitch was good and not far from everything. The scenery was stunning and everyone we met along our walks all said hello which I thought was lovely. The clubhouse was stunning and overlooked the river, and not to mention our boat taxi to Stratford, the man was so friendly and was very informative on our trip. Overall we will be returning again. We did to stay another night but they were fully booked which was ashame.the showers were great lovely and warm and large enough for me to shower my 2 year old.

Disliked The only thing I can think of was on both evenings in bed we thought someone was in our awning, however on the second night my other half went to check it out and was stunned when a badgers head appeared by the bin. This is no lie. He actually didn’t realise how big they were and he actually ran back in the van:

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked very enjoyable stay, loved the water taxi. Paul the warden went over and beyond in his helpfulness.
We had trouble with our awning, Paul helped us get it stored back into the cassette, I thanked him and casually said we will have to sit in the sun as no shade.
next thing we know he is back with his personal table and umbrella for us to use.
Thank you Paul !!

Local attractions

For a change from the river taxi, guests can stroll into Stratford-upon-Avon to take in a play from the Royal Shakespeare Company, have a flutter at the races, or visit the many Shakespeare sights dotted around the city. There’s also excellent retail therapy to be had here, as well as in the elegant surrounding towns of Cheltenham, Royal Leamington Spa and Warwick.
Sporty types will find golf courses, swimming pools and many other facilities nearby, and of course there are plenty of good walking opportunities along the river and out into the lovely Warwickshire countryside. Further along the banks of the Avon are the stately country house of Charlecote Park, and winsome Warwick Castle, which has plenty of things to do and see for all ages. Also nearby are the majestic ruins of Kenilworth Castle, where Robert Dudley and Elizabeth I used to make out; or you could follow in the footsteps of the Gunpowder Plotters of 1605 with a visit to Coughton Court. At the Ragley Hall Estate, visitors can take a tour of the Palladian mansion, go sculpture spotting in the Capability Brown parkland, or lose themselves in the 3D maze. The site is also a great base from which to explore the villages and landscapes of the Cotswolds.
