Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch (large)

Liked: Washing facilities, well maintained grounds, location

Disliked: Paid for fully serviced pitch but only got electricity in reality. Permanent residents dominate the utility post. Only one tap was accessible and was used by neighbour. Other one was out of action. Drainage was completely utilised by neighbour. Only there two nights so not a huge problem. So expensive for just electricity. I would return but would not bother asking for fully serviced pitch. Didn’t see any wardens for whole stay

Liked: Lovely site, very clean and peaceful - adults only. Fully serviced pitches good value for money and with plenty of room. We didn’t see the owners/managers of the site but we didn’t need to as we had no problems. On a quiet country lane near to a park. 10 minute walk from Mark Bosworth.

Liked: Loved how peacefully it was . The site was very well maintained. The toilets block was clean .it was near to the restaurants and the local town . Lovely!!!

Disliked: In the main toilet block, the shower was so friece and high that water went everywhere, including my hair, which I had no intention of shampooing. There was water outside of the shower ,luckily there was a mop .not a thing you like doing on your holiday.

Liked: Not applicable

Disliked: ne can make mistakes. On reversing onto our pitch we inadvertently went on the grass (talking about less than 12 inches) and became stuck. Bearing in mind we had just left a site where we drove over grass and there had not been a problem. The young girl was lovely and said don’t worry we can sort it. I offered to call the AA. But no a young man appeared moments later with a pickup truck. No tow rope but we had one. Off, parked up , said thank you. Minutes later the owner wanted £50 for tow and repair of grass. In addition to this he said we had blocked the road and people found it hard to pass. There was room for a car to pass . No money had been mentioned up to that point. We said no but agreed to pay £20. Still waiting for letter headed receipt or till receipt. The whole experience made us feel uncomfortable.

From the manager: You stated laughingly that you had been stuck on site pitch's prior to your arrival and that when you called the breakdown services they also became stuck resulting in heavy duty vehicle's being called to extract all .The huge hard standing fully serviced pitch you were on also had cctv and it showed you were exceptionally careless in driving onto a grass area bearing in mind it has been raining since last October NO GRASS PITCHS COULD BE USED.ON ANY SITE.The staff dealt with you exceedingly politely and a suitable vehicle had to be dispatch from another of our sites to extract you with no thank you from you.You then berated on groundsman who had to fetch a barrow load of soil to infill the damaged you caused and seed same. We nearly printed your name and address

Excellent site.

Local attractions

The centre of Market Bosworth is a conservation area and has heaps of old buildings to see around its market place; Bosworth dates back to 1048 and has had a Royal Charter for its market since the seventeenth century. There’s still a weekly market on Wednesdays, with a farmers’ market held every month, and the town is also known for its galleries and antiquery geekery; The Clock Shop in The Square has antique barometers and long case clocks to covet. Bosworth Water Trust is within wandering distance of the town centre, with a 20-acre lake for watersports and fishing and taster sessions/private lessons on offer for anyone wanting to get to grips with canoeing, sailing or windsurfing. Once you’ve damply tired yourself out, have a seat on the Battlefield Line: this nineteenth-century railway is still steaming through the heart of England, with a stop at Bosworth en route from Shackerstone to Shenton. Slightly further afield towards Tamworth, go loopy on the rides and eyeball the animals at Drayton Manor Theme Park, or slide down the slopes on skis or snowboards at the indoor snow slope SnowDome; you might also enjoy gibbering at the gibbons at Twycross Zoo. But you can’t go to Bosworth and not explore the demise of Richard 3 with a trip to the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park… Among the many highlights here are trying your skills as an archer, donning armour to find out how heavy it is (very) and hearing about the gruesome facts of medieval warfare. One the kids will like, then…You can reach Warwick Castle easily from here too, which should be a big hit with little historians with its re-enactments, dressing up and daily shows.
