  • Quiet secluded site close to Bicester
  • The closest site to Bicester Heritage (two miles)
  • Fishing lakes on site
What an excellent Oxfordshire site this is for anglers. And walkers. And quiet English countryside appreciators. For friendly and well-maintained Glebe Leisure Park is in a cracking countryside location on the edges of Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire as well as Oxfordshire and has two fishing lakes on site as well as lots of trails all around. Dogs – and their owners – like this place too, as there are long walks and gravelled pathways with dog waste bins set at handy locations, and it's mighty like too that cyclists will like the gentle and short pedal along to local town Bicester... Any amenities you might need are sorted here, such as a loo and shower block with info room about the surrounding area, a toilet and shower facilities for disabled guests, a chemical disposal point, drinking water outlets and a car park.

Camping pod (family, six person)

Liked: This was our fourth time visiting Glebe, and I have to say, it is still the best place I have ever glamped. The facilities are clean, and the site is incredibly peaceful. We adore this location! The fishing lake is well-stocked; unfortunately, my partner only caught one fish this time, but he enjoyed every hour spent there. The shops are not far away from those things you always forget—haha!

Disliked: There is nothing I dislike about here

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Small friendly site. Toilet and shower facilities nearby. Showers nice and hot. Great little pub, Butchers Arms, only a shirt walk or drive away, 1.3 miles. There is also a lovely little coffee and cake van next to pub on the green.

Disliked: Need a squeedgy floor mop for guests to use in the shower. Also an extra hook or 2 on the shower door would be handy as no seat to put clothes.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Despite being late we were welcomed warmly for check-in and given all the information we needed. The site had good motorhome facilities and a very good area to walk the dog around the fishing lake.

Disliked: The hard stand was nice and long but a bit narrow and as it had been raining a lot the grass was quite muddy but that is just England at this time of year!

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Site layout Friendly customer service Good size pitch

Disliked: Facilities were poorly designed. No space to get undressed/dressed in shower cubicle. No hooks on door, so had to throw clothes over the door. The floor was dirty and muddy and the room is very cold.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: Dog walking area Super pitch Plenty of hot water in showers Quiet site, nicely landscaped

Disliked: Shower/toilet block wasn’t well designed and had a lot of mud and leaves in. Addition of door mats and mops would help with mud. More hooks and drying space would improve showers.

Local attractions

Plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés are in Glebe Leisure's local town of Bicester within a couple of miles, and designer clothes and accessories in the outlet shopping centre Bicester Village. Glebe is the closest site to Bicester Heritage, the first park in the UK for the tender loving restoration care of classic and vintage cars, motorbikes and planes, all on over 345 acres of an old RAF bomber station. The centre's been described as 'a historic motoring fan's idea of heaven' so do speed along there if old engines make your motor hum. Twelve miles from the site is simply smashing Blenheim Palace, given to the first Duke of Marlborough by Charlie 2 and handed down through the Churchill family to reach one Winston some decades back. You really should have a trip... Also within 12 miles are another few British institutions: the dizzying array of arty treasures at the National Trust's Waddesdon Manor; Broughton Castle at Banbury, and days out spectating fast types at Silverstone Circuit.
