Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked: We loved this campsite with our 3 young boys. The owners were very kind and considerate and checked how we were. The facilities include 2 small toilets and 2 showers that were kept clean, and cold water taps by the field. There was also a sun heated pipe system which I imagine can work well in full sun. It is situated down a single track away from any busy areas and is nice and peaceful. There were other families in the closest garden with single sex / groups without children situated in the adjacent field. My boys enjoyed playing games in the open space as well as going over the little bridge and walking around the garden. It is also nice that they allow small fires and sell wood onsite.

Shepherd's hut
Liked: Very pretty garden with trees, flowers and birds singing. Well equipped, cosy caravan and a great fire pit. Well connected with everything Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire has to offer, easy to get to.
Disliked: The campsite is right next to a town and a railway line but this wasn’t too much of a problem, the campsite itself felt peaceful and idyllic and it’s easy enough to drive to other areas such as the Sherwood Forest. We stayed 1 adult and 2 older kids in the Sheperds Hut but I’d recommend just staying 2 people as it’s more kitted out for that. The field was water logged in a lot of places but we were notified about it in advance so brought wellies and didn’t mind too much but it would be easier for kids to play if it was drier so something to just bare in mind. The facilities are quite basic but ok for a short stay.

Liked: Easy to find on foot. Welcoming and decent facilities. Warm showers most welcome and a good wheel barrow of wood from Andy for my oil drum fire. Quiet surroundings. Hard to believe on a mile or so from the main town really!

Liked: A warm welcome on arrival and a lovely relaxed style adopted. The campsite was perfectly located within walking distance from the town but situated in the leafy quiet suburbs
Disliked: There was no hot water for washing up but this didn’t detract from our short stay
