Liked Fishing good, pitch basic but served needs ideal location for fishing
If you are a walker or dog owner there are plenty of walks close to nature reserve cafe and good fishing tackle shop on site
Disliked Shared toilet showers need a bit of maintenance, cleanliness at times not good, people not site responsible though.

Lovely peaceful site, nice outlook, good location.
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Site clean and very tidy, views lovely and very peaceful. Good distance to walk to town and close to Idle valley nature reserve which you can walk to from the site.
Will definitely visit again.
Disliked Toilet block could be better portacabin type and not locked so children inclined to play in there. The speed bumps are a bit aggressive for a caravan/ motorhome even at a ver slow speed.

Sorry, we won't be going back
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Pretty lakes, plenty of places to walk the dog
Be aware: you think you've gone wrong when you arrive. Both our satnavs wanted to turn us right but the campsite signs went left. It looks like you've reached a dead-end and a recycling centre. The gates are just past that on the right
Disliked Not a big problem but worth knowing: When we arrived Reception was shut and we just picked up an information sheet with our pitch number on. Never been somewhere before where not seen someone at Reception
Hard-standing pitches right on the corner of 2 roads and a long walk from the toilets, yet grass pitches were in a much quieter part of the site and next to the toilets
2 of 4 non-disabled toilets were blocked on our 1st day. They were cleaner the next 2 days thank goodness but I only used the shower after that 1st experience.
Only 4 toilets/shower rooms and 1 disabled 1 for all the touring tents/caravans. Surely toilet blocks and shower blocks would work better
So many speed bumps and they were pretty brutal ones too. Easy to scrape a towing hitch if the car is full. Even had speed bumps outside the site!
Caution: The cafe was closed by the time we got there as the times aren't as advertised, so check onsite

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Found this via Pitchup for a last minute night away in the motorhome, and we’d recommend it to all from the hassle free check in, great location, good facilities, superb onsite cafe, lovely staff and more. Superb value for money too.
Special mention to the on site tackle shop staff member from today who helped a complete novice with great advice, helping recommend the right gear to purchase that soon lead to successfully catching his first fish within 30 minutes of trying! 🎣
He’s now completely obsessed and will be back soon to catch some more. 🐟

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch
Liked Not a lot to be honest. The site was well kept and tidy.
Disliked Pitches too close together, we felt uncomfortable. Unaware that fishing matches were held Thursday, Friday and Saturday until we arrived. This reduced options of pegs for the majority of our stay. Not enough toilets, showers for the number of pitches. Chef was off so only basket meals available in the evening. Bar/kitchen staff were very blasé about what could be offered with a “don’t care” attitude.

Big and busy, but quiet after 10pm
Electric grass pitch
Liked We liked the scenery around the fishing lakes, and the well serviced facilities. Plenty hot water and clean shower units.
Disliked It was quite busy and the vans were packed in quite tight. Most visitors seemed to be there for the fishing. But it was a hot summer weekend and people appear to really enjoy fishing, so good on them.

Disliked Pitches were too small, felt like we were on top of each other. They weren’t in great condition either.
