  • Peaceful adults-only site on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds
  • Half an hour's drive from Lincoln; 35 minutes from Donna Nook seals
  • Set on a working farm; five minutes’ drive from a local pub
Up sticks and take yourself off to Treetops Farm Holidays for easy access to wide open spaces and wanders around the Lincolnshire Wolds. This adults-only site is deep in the countryside, about a mile and a half from the small village of Goulceby. The coast is also within reach here (with the seals of Donna Nook being a particular local highlight), as are the historic sights and cobbled streets of Lincoln (half an hour's drive away). This working farm looks out onto a gentle agricultural landscape that stretches out for miles around (keep an eye out for some of the farm's friendly sheep on your strolls around the site). Given the gorgeous surrounds, you'll most likely want to roam away from base – head into Goulceby for a three-mile circular walk that runs through Red Hill Nature Reserve and along part of the Viking Way. Barbecues are allowed here and highly recommended when the weather is fine (this area is known for its spectacular sunsets). On chillier evenings, the local pub (five minutes away) may be a more tempting option for dinner; Lincoln's array of bars and restaurants are also within reach if you're looking to plan a special evening out. Supermarkets are on hand in Horncastle (10 minutes away) if you need to stock up.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Most aspects to the site are perfect. - Location, condition of actual field - Quiet - Pitch sizes / quantity (9no) which provides those staying with plenty of space still for kids, dogs etc.

Disliked: - Waste gully needs a tap/wash point. We could only find the main tap for drinking water. - Access road to the field has change/improved, but the pot holes/underlations in it make it a little bit of a challenge entering/exiting. But otherwise, can't fault the site.

Liked: The views, Matt was really pleasant and helpful. Location was great for travelling around the area

Disliked: Facilities could be better, especially black water waste. A big tank that stinks to hell and exposed you to open sewage isn't exactly what I'd call a facility, used once in my stay, didn't repeat the experience. Only a single tap for the whole site.

Liked: Matt your customer service is excellent, from the first text to replying to all my (disastrous) travel updates and delays! Matt met me at the gate, I’ve stayed before but have to say the site looked amazing. I love the picnic benches breaking up the site. The views are still spectacular, the pitches are very spacious and the EHU has been upgraded. As it was during storm Lilian a very nice touch that Matt came and checked were all ok - it was a night for the memory bank. I will be back thank you for sharing this beautiful location.

Liked: The site is everything we wanted, Clean, Tidy and very peaceful, the views from the site are a real bonus, during the evening the local wild life visits (Rabbits, Hare and Deer) -- and the night sky is really beautiful as there is little or no light pollution. It's has no toilets or showers and that was fine with us as we already have them with us, The site owner popped over and said "hello -- any problems call him" but that was it which again was perfect as often site owners use the site visitors as an extension of their social life, and we just wanted peace. Thank you so much.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Very friendly and helpfull host Amazing views of the lincolnshire wolds felt like being inside a moving constable painting . Stayed 3 nights and 2 of those we had the field to ouselves , it is a bit remote and thats what we liked about it . Need to have your own toilet and shower as none on site , electric posts nicely spaced out and water supply on fence that backs onto the cottage . There is a chemical waste tank and recyling bins . Need a car with you unless you love walking !! We walked 50 mins to a pub in Hemingby and rested in the beer garden with some loverly bar food . With a car you are 35mins from lincoln or 50mins from maplethorpe beach and 5 mins from cadwell park race track .

Local attractions

The big winnings, the bigger hats, the daft names of the horses – there are oodles of reasons so many flock to watch jockeys tear up the turf at Market Rasen Racecourse (20 minutes' drive). The regular county events held here are particularly popular and great for first-timers who fancy a go at cheering on their winner from the grandstand without spending big bucks in the process. Other thoroughly sporting jaunts can be had at Ashby Park Fishery (10 minutes), Kenwick Park Golf Club (20 minutes) and along the Viking Way (15 minutes' walk from base). With so much within a short drive of Treetops Farm Holidays, you may find yourself deliberating about what to start with. One option that's likely to keep all sides happy is kicking off your stay in Lincoln (30 minutes) – the cathedral and RAF Scampton Heritage Centre should keep history buffs content, while culture fans have a handful of theatres and galleries for artsier ents. Outdoorsy types haven't been forgotten either – they can dash down to Lincoln Golf Centre or Whisby Nature Park just outside town.
