What a lovely peaceful place

  • Back to basics, dog-friendly grass field in the Lincolnshire Wolds
  • Around five minutes’ drive from the Viking Way and Lindsey Trail
  • Peaceful smallholding where barbecues are permitted
Sweet, simple and scenic – that’s the vibe at Spring Bottom Farm in Benniworth, on the edge of the peaceful Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As a back to basics pop-up site, this is the place to be if you’re after simple stays with stunning views and plenty of peace and quiet. The well-maintained grass field is on a smallholding in a quiet area, with views of Lincoln in the distance (if you want to go there in person, it’s half an hour’s drive away). Take yourself off on a more-than-pleasant five-mile walk in the local area, stopping off for a refresher at the local community pub, which is open on weekends and 50 minutes’ walk along the route. With half an acre of well-maintained grass at Spring Bottom Farm, there’s plenty of space for kids, dogs and big kids to run free. There are simple amenities – portable toilet access and a washing-up area to deal with any grubby dishes left over after your own barbecues – so focus on getting your outdoor fix. There’s a small food shop 10 minutes’ drive away and the market town of Louth is 15 minutes’ drive away with a bountiful supply of cafés, eateries and pubs.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Very peaceful place, very clean and welcoming. The family who runs it borrowed me a frying pan so I could fry the eggs that I could buy freshly from them. I had a lovely walk in the evening, saw lots of horses, sheep, rabbits and friendly cats:) Absolutely loved it and will hopefully be back one day:).

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Freindly owners..was talking to them for ages.
Very easy to find.
Nice level couple of acre site with tall hedges so fairly protected from winds as much as its possible to be with a clean basic toilet cubicle with a pot washing sink on the side of it.
Loved the site and will return for peaceful weekends away.

Disliked Nothing.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Facilities where clean and well kept. I liked the range of products such as hand wash and washing up liquid. Eggs and honey to purchase where a nice touch. Camp staff where very friendly and accommodating. Basic site but that is reflected in the price.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We stayed here as a family with a 5 year old, and it was absolutely fantastic. The site is on a family run farm and they were so friendly and helpful, George was great with our son and let him feed his lambs and sheep, and now he won’t stop talking about Dan, Blossom and Petal! Basic toilet and washing up facilities which were very clean, with local eggs and honey for sale which made for a very tasty breakfast too! Right next to the Lincolnshire Wolds which provided truly spectacular scenery and a welcome break from city life for a very reasonable price. Graham told us about a beautiful walk just nearby around two lakes, where we watched a huge flock of geese, so if you enjoy walking it’s a great place to visit too. 10/10.
