Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Peace and quite with big pitches plenty of water points

Disliked: The entrance l thought was a bit of an issue if someone is trying to leave the site as your entering , simply because if you are arriving and need to report to reception you cannot get in passed the barrier and if someone wants to leave your in the way until you have received the entrance code . So l can only imagine that during the busier months it must be a nightmare.

Liked: The site itself is beautiful and well-kept. The facilities are decent and always found clean. The check-in process was easy. The owners are super friendly and happy to help.

Disliked: There are loads of ducks and geese, which isn't an issue but if you're lucky enough to have a bird obsessed dog like us, they might not relax as much as you'd thought. 100% my dog is the problem, but worth noting if yours is similar.

Local attractions

With historic Lincoln ticked off, next up is historic Newark-on-Trent (half an hour’s drive). The market town has a 12th-century castle and an air museum with 65 different aircrafts. If that’s not quite enough history for you, Doddington Hall & Gardens (five minutes) is an Elizabethan manor house with walled gardens, a café and farm shop and the International Bomber Command Centre (25 minutes) traces the story of Lincoln’s Bomber Command. Swap in the museums for the sand if you feel like a lazy day on Lincolnshire’s east coast. Destinations like Ingoldmells and Skegness are an hour and 20 minutes’ drive away. It’s easy to get carried away with the amusements, so those wanting to get back to nature can take on the lakeside trails at Whisby Nature Park (10 minutes) or browse through Pennells Garden Centre Lincoln (10 minutes) Check out the schedule for Newark Showground (20 minutes) for fairs, festivals and events throughout the year. The Lincolnshire Show Ground (20 minutes) has local crafts and livestock or equine classes.
