Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Really lovely and peaceful area, we stayed mid week and managed to have the campsite to ourselves! The toilets and showers were spotless and absolutely gleaming. Loved the outside washing up area, even a cloth and sponge to use! Slightly sloping field but the pitch we chose was mainly flat. Lots of picnic benches around and lovely pond.

Disliked: Not much to dislike, unless you don't appreciate birds chirping at 5am 😆

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Spacious pitches, well marked and well mown, on a slight slope. Our sat nav took us practically to site but maybe the actual entrance sign needs to be more prominent. Facilities were fine. Only here as a stopover for one night, but would be fine for longer.

Disliked: Nothing

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Lovely little campsite. You can see the whole site from your pitch so it's great for kids to play, and they enjoyed the woods too. The facilities are in nice wooden cabins and kept very clean. The hut for washing dishes is spacious and also has some board games. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The site was peaceful and very quiet after 10pm which we loved. Very close to Belton House for a great day out, and we did a nice walk from the campsite too.

Local attractions

Folks with a penchant for fine buildings will no doubt want to nab a couple of trips to nearby National Trust properties: the gorgeous town house and walled gardens of Grantham House are five minutes’ drive away, and there are often family-friendly events at Belton House (10 minutes) as well as a splendid porcelain collection, fab formal gardens and a huge adventure playground. Also worth a visit is Woolsthorpe Manor, 15 minutes away; at the former home of local clever clogs Isaac Newton you can even see the famed tree from which fell the apple that started giving him ideas. There are no world-changing trees at Easton Walled Gardens, 10 minutes away, but it’s a lovely visit to these restored 400-year-old gardens nonetheless (and there’s an excellent tearoom too). Scoot over to Sleaford in 20 minutes or so to visit the National Centre for Craft & Design or get up close to the planes at the friendly (and free) Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum. Big-city attractions are 45 minutes away in Nottingham.
