Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Our weekend at the campsite was wonderful. This idyllic location provided the perfect setting to recharge our batteries. The facilities are excellent with the grounds impeccably maintained and the bathrooms exceptionally clean (addressing my usual reluctance to use public restrooms with ease).I used them without any problems including the shower. Joanne's warm reception further enhanced our experience making us feel truly welcome. Without a doubt, we will be returning and wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful campsite to family and friends. Simply brilliant! Thank you Severn Valley Touring Caravan and Camping Site for this amazing experience. 😊

Disliked: Having to leave!

#2 shepherd's hut (family)

Liked: This was an amazingly well kept campsite, with the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen when camping. The site was quiet yet friendly. The shepherd's hut was well stocked with everything we needed and the additional lounge camp chairs and picnic table meant we could enjoy dinner outside. My daughter's loved the local eggs and Apple juice (made from apples on the campsite). A fantastic stay.

Local attractions

Less than 20 minutes’ drive from the Forest of Dean, this is a solid base for ticking off tourist attractions, taking part in outdoorsy pursuits and shopping in market towns. The Dean Heritage Centre is 15 minutes away for planning wooded walks and more ambles can be had at the National Trust’s Westbury Court Garden in around 10. Other landscapes to lope around in the local area include Lydney Park, a 17th-century country estate with Roman ruins, within a 20-minute drive. If kids start to tire of staying on solid ground, they can take on an adventure course above the treetops at Go Ape (15 minutes' drive); other spots to suit small sorts include the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail (20 minutes) and the Forest of Dean Adventure Park (30 minutes). Above-ground adventures complete, seek subterranean times at Clearwell Caves (25 minutes), then glide about at your own leisure in a canoe hired from Symonds Yat (35 minutes).
