Clean, quiet, spacious site, great for stop off if heading South West
Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Extremely clean, and ample toilet and shower facilities. Very quiet site, well located for a stop off heading to the South West from Scotland. Close to lots of walks and for older kids Go Ape and Sculpture Park.
Disliked It didn’t feel like there would be a big welcome to larger family groups. It was fine for me as a solo parent with one tween and for a short out of season stay.
From the manager: Thank you for your feedback, so pleased you enjoyed your stay. As a small campsite our visitors largely consist of couples and small families - people looking for some quiet time and to enjoy the beautiful and natural landscape with a wide range of wildlife. As such we do not have children's facilities onsite, there is lots to do in the Forest and surrounding areas.
Definitely worth a visit if your looking for peace and tranquility!
Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked The beautiful setting. Site was immaculately clean. Best facilities I’ve stayed in to date! Lovely welcome on arrival.
Disliked Nothing
From the manager: Thank you Sara, it was lovely to meet you. So pleased you enjoyed your stay - we are very proud of our facilities and our little site.
Clean facilities, but wouldn't visit again
Non-electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Facilities were clean
Campsite quiet
Ideal over night stay
Disliked Requested electric hook up.. only to be told non available, yet there were plenty of empty pitches ??
From the manager: Obviously we are very disappointed to read this 3/10 graded review given we could not have done anything in our powers to improve your dislikes. Especially as this seems to be a result of a simple misunderstanding I was not aware of.
You booked a non-electric pitch and was therefore not allocated an electric hook up. I recall you asked on arrival, before being sited, if we happen to have any electric available. I confirmed (truthfully) that unfortunately we did not as we were up to full capacity for the nights of your stay. Please be assured I always offer it for sale when it is available.
At no time during your stay did you come and ask about moving pitches and any empty pitches were not those that had electric allocated. Like most small (or indeed large) sites we have a limited amount of electric supply to the site. We have to ensure we only book pitches within that capacity or risk tripping out the supply. We have more plugin points than we have capacity. We are set up in this way so we can be flexible in where we pitch people to suit their needs. So if you saw any empty plugin points it was not because we had electric available, it will have been because we had reached the maximum number of points elsewhere on the site. I am very happy to explain this to visitors when asked.
A jewel in the crown camping and caravan site.
Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Absolutely fantastic site. Friendly, helpful host, great facilities, very dog friendly, this site should be on everybody's bucket list.
Disliked Nothing
From the manager: Thank you so much, We just love our little campsite and the people we meet. So glad you enjoyed your stay despite the roasting heatwave (I know many people love it more than me :) Hope to see you back one day!
Weekend break with family
Electric grass pitch (large)
Liked Had a fantastic weekend here camping, the owner was very friendly and always had time for a chat. The site is amazing, So clean, not a bit of rubbish anywhere, showers and toilet blocks really clean. There are some lovely woodland walks on the site, we was supposed to take our dog who would have loved it but it was to hot at 32 degrees, but will be definitely be returning with her. Close to little towns and villages and some lovely fishing ponds on site too.
Definitely star 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 and would 100% recommend
Disliked Nothing
From the manager: The sun was definitely out to play this weekend! Was lovely to meet you all and see you enjoying your weekend away. Look forward to meeting you pup next time you come to stay :)

Electric optional hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely site with paths around 2 fishing ponds. The facilities are clean and modern. There's 2 lovely dog exercise areas where they can be off lead. The whole site was very well maintained. It was a great starting point for our road trip through Wales.
Disliked Being very picky, the water didn't get hot in the pot wash area.
From the manager: Thank you for the lovely feedback, We hope your trip to Wales is a wonderful one! The washing up room is at the end of the facilities building in the same room as the laundry and the visitors fridge/freezer - the other end to the boiler room. So sometimes when the taps have not been used for a while it can take a few minutes for the hot water to come through :)
The site has everything you would need and it was all spotless.…
Non-electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked The site has everything you would need and it was all spotless.
Also not over run with pitches, meaning it was lovely and quiet.
The 2 dog exercise fields were brilliant.
I didn’t manage to connect to any wifi, and phone signal was hit & miss (which I liked 😅)
I enjoyed my stay so much, I’ve booked to go back next weekend!
Disliked N/A!
From the manager: Hi Lucy, Thank you for the lovely feedback and it was great to see you back again with your little man :) Made sure I reserved the pitch you asked for again. We do not have wifi at the campsite but you can usually get good phone signal on EE, O2 and others. Vodafone not as strong. Hope you see you back again soon!
Great campsite

Will definitely stay again when in the area.
Non-electric grass pitch (large)
Liked Warm welcome, easy check-in. Super clean toilets/showers, very good pressure and hot. Clothes washing and washing up facilities good. Nice scenery, lots of birds to be seen.
From the manager: Thank you Rachel, we are very proud of the wildlife haven we have created :)
There is a coin operated large washing machine and tumble dryer, along with a washing up room equipment with two large sinks an a fridge freezer for our visitors to use.
