What really shone was the owners of the site, they are such friendly and helpful people who truly went above and beyond.

Would recommend this site as a Forest of Dean base, we would return.
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely site, flat pitches, pitch where you want, 2 toilets and 2 showers were adequate, hardly any wait when needed to use, and all were kept very clean.
Good location for accessing the Forest of Dean area and also parkrun.
Lovely owners who welcomed us and gave information about the area and cycle routes etc.
There was one camper there who did not abide by the policy of quiet after 10pm and played music until the early hours - we understand that when this was reported the owners dealt with it very appropriately. They even went to each of the other camp site guests the following morning to apologise and to ensure everyone was ok. NB: they had nothing to apologise for and they dealt with it well when they were aware of the noise.
Full respect for the owners, but zero respect for the noisy and selfish campers making the noise! (Thank goodness we had ear plugs so we did sleep ok still..)
All in all we had a great weekend and we would return to this site and recommend it.
Disliked The noisy camper, but not the owners fault and they dealt with it very appropriately.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Really well situated for exploring the forest. Despite being a pop up and reasonably priced, thoughtful touches like the loos with warm water, wash up sinks & showers and Fire pits available.
Friendly owners very helpful.
There was some evening shade and wasn’t too crowded. Dog friendly.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Loads of space on a bank holiday weekend, they also allowed us to book 1 night. We were looking for a basic campsite after cycling for a day, this met all our needs, it has 2 clean showers and toilets, no frills, and is a stones throw from Coleford and FOD MTB trails
Disliked Nothing.

Nothing really to pick up on. It was absolutely fine for a basic site.
Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Plenty of space. Clean facilities. 15 min walk to amenities. Cost £60 for two nights which I guess is fair in this day and age. It is a business after all. A basic site with basic amenities. Warm showers. Clean toilets. You park up or pitch up. Stay the night and leave. Not much else to it. When we stayed the field was in good condition. Slightly sloped in some areas but also plenty of flat spots.
Disliked I can see how the showers and toilets could get very busy if the site was busier. I can imagine when it's busy there could be upwards of 70 or 80 people and only two toilets and two showers. It's just off a 'main' road but we didn't notice much traffic. There seemed to be a small shop, it wasn't open and couldn't see if it would be at any point so not sure there.
