Liked: Great site, good facilities on site including a small shop, fridge and freezer usage (great for freezer packs if your not using power like us) showers (remember your 20p’s) with clean toilet areas. Nice playground for the kids to blow off some steam. Generally a great site to be at. Not far from Matlock Bath and Matlock itself along with places like Black Rock being closest (good walking and trails) but not far from Bakewell either
Disliked: Mud! Through no fault of the site or its owners we have torrential downpours whilst there which made the field muddy from people driving on it (and often churning it up when flooring it due to wheels slipping). Felt for the cleaning team as it was a constant battle in terms of keeping the toilets and facilities clean!!

Liked: This is our second time here and we loved it as much this time as we did the first time. Great views and so peaceful. There’s plenty of room to pitch even when it’s busy. We usually take everything we need but if you do forget something there is a shop on site or we drove to the local post office and village shop in winster. This time we managed to get a spot near the toilet block but it doesn’t matter where you are it’s only a short walk. They’re clean and have great facilities. We can’t wait to go back.

Liked: Signal is very good
Disliked: It's very unfriendly to charge money for bathing. There are too many people in the campground. The number of people should be limited.

From the manager: Thankyou for your review. If you read the details of the campsite before you arrived you would know that we charge for the showers due to this enabling everyone to have a hot shower and not running out. You booked a Bank Holiday weekend so of course it is busy but we do not cram people in and there was plenty of room. You did arrive a day late therefore it was full when you arrived. Can I also remind you that some of your friends constantly had their dogs off leads and were told about it on numerous occasions.
Great campsite. Will be going again.

Liked: Excellent location, great facilities- cleaned regularly. Park and farm animals were great for the children. Convenient shop on site
Disliked: Only slight negative and not a major problem was that the shower temperature was temperamental and there was no control to change the temperature manually
