Woolly 1 bedroom lodge

Liked: The cabin was amazing, very peaceful, thoughtfully decorated and kitted out. The bed was so comfy and wifi coverage was good too. Loved the attention to detail outside with the lights and seating area. The cabin looks over the farm animals in field and lovely green scenery. Liz the owner is fabulous, so friendly and goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is pleasant.

Woolly 1 bedroom lodge

Liked: We had a Fantastic stay. The cabin comes equipped with everything you need even a flash light in the bedside cabinet Liz really did think of everything. It's very cosey and quiet proper peace and quiet. We ordered a curry on a Saturday night which arrived within the hour. We enjoyed our stay so much we hoping to go back in march next year. If your looking for some much needed quiet time with lots of outdoor things to do or if your looking for somewhere to just de-stress for a couple of days then book wooly lodge. I could say so much more but I'd run out of characters. Thankyou Liz.

Woolly 1 bedroom lodge

Liked: Just arrived home after an amazing stay at Woolley lodge. My husband and I stayed for two nights for our wedding anniversary. At the time of booking, I had mentioned that the stay was for my anniversary and when we arrived we discovered that Elizabeth (the owner) had left us a card, a bottle of fizz and some chocolates. So thoughtful. The cabin was clean and beautifully furnished. We had a view straight out onto fields where we could see sheep frolicking around. We also enjoyed sitting on the outdoor decking and reading the books provided in the cabin. Can’t wait to come and stay again!

Local attractions

Lively Chesterfield (five minutes’ drive) rewards a visit for its historic heart, with shops and cafés tucked into half-timbered townhouses in The Shambles, and a sprawling open-air market on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Gothic-era St Mary and All Saints church has a curiously twisted spire that's become a much-loved local landmark – climb to the top for views over the town’s rooftops. Other local landmarks include hilltop Bolsover Castle (10 minutes), with its intricate fairytale design and lovely gardens. National Trust-owned Hardwick House (15 minutes) is one of the finest Tudor mansions in the country, with landscaped gardens and elaborate interiors to tour, while Chatsworth House (half an hour) deserves a day exploring its vast estates and intricate apartments. And of course the Peak District National Park (20 minutes) beckons, with its many hiking and cycling routes covering steep valleys and exposed moorland. Riverside Bakewell (half an hour), Edale (55 minutes, and the official start of the Pennine Way) and the plague village of Eyam (half an hour) are just a few of its many pretty villages with cosy pubs for leisurely lunches.
