Liked: A friendly lady called Lucy told us our options. We were non electric on grass and it was fab! Only request no low barbecues, no noise after 11. We were far away in a second field. Toilet: shower were adequate ,a new toilet was available, shame there wasn’t a new shower there! Lovely pub called the Bulls Head was great certainly recommend it! Aldi there’s a lovely walk nearby.

Liked: Very welcoming and friendly family that run this farm and campsite. First time visitors and first time campers. This was a trial run with our two dogs so we decided to stay fairly close to home. We arrived around 12.30 on Saturday and had the choice of two huge fields to pitch our tent, we just picked somewhere and set up and wow, what an even we had with the sunset. The other huge field was for caravans. We explored the surrounding areas and tired the dogs out so we could have a peaceful evening, it worked a treat! We stopped by the campsite office/shop and purchased some of the Peak District ice cream. You must try!! Can also hire camp fires and wood here! Cannot comment on the showers as we didn’t use them but the toilet block closest to the tent fields is brand new and immaculately clean and always had hand soap and loo roll! All other campers were respectful and not noisy. We will definitely return for longer than one night! Highly recommend.

Liked: Friendly, clean facilities, loads of space and laid back site. The children really enjoyed watching the cows come in to be milked each evening. The rope swings were fab. Excellent walks from the campsite too!

Liked: The site location is great… if you like walking there are routes straight from the camping field. The site has plenty of space and we had a lovely flat pitch, with natural shelter from the strong wind gusts. A new toilet block has been installed and was within walking distance from the camping fields and was always clean even after rain. I have read some reviews about not enough water points; I don’t think they had looked for them as there were plenty around the site and easily marked. Other people complaining about firepit & wood cost, I would say the cost was very reasonable and one of the cheaper sites. We never had to queue for pot washing room and the water was always hot, there is a large fridge and freezer which was good for our ice blocks as well as getting my beers to drinking temperature!! Great walk to Monyash with spectacular views throughout the route, Monyash is a great circular walk from the site with a pub The Bulls head half way round so well worth a stop! In a nice touch, while we were packing up Ed came round and collected our rubbish bags and fire pit saving up taking it to the bins. Finaly the host’s Ed and Amy were onsite and gave us some great tips on places to go and walk. The Lead Mill was a good recommendation Ed on the Sunday after we packed up! Thanks again both of you.
Disliked: Nothing... its perfect spot to just relax
