On site facilities were nice & clean, running hot water and enough space. The horse box was a good size and had a comfy bed, and was plenty for me and my wife for a weekend stay. Campsite owner was friendly and helpful despite being incredibly busy. There was wifi but we didn't attempt to use it, so can't comment on it's efficacy.

Screaming & swearing feral children at 10pm; but not the fault of the campsite

The campsite overall was lovely, owner/staff were so friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more in terms of this :)

The facilities were also clean, well maintained and the charging lockers in the toilets were a godsend :)

Unfortunately why I had to give 4 stars was that the campsite, on our last night, had several groups of extremely loud campers. Music blasting and shouting, fighting and screaming until early hours of the morning. We aren't fussy in terms of noise and don't mind it but this was on another level and scared my children. It would be good if the campsite did not allow large same sex groups if marketing as a family friendly campsite. As I say it was not just one group but several.

Excellent site with plenty of room to pitch up wherever we wanted. Plenty of clean shower and toilet facilities and clean water tap located in the field so no need to keep travelling back to the main facilities.

Amazing location, beautiful views, family friendly and peaceful, wild camping with clean and efficient facilities, lovely little shop/cafe on site that has all the little basics you might need and owners and all the staff are friendly and helpful, definitely found our go to camping site looking forward to returning next season

Location and views from campsite over the valley.

The campsite was not managed at all. We stayed for 5 nights, and 3 out of the 5 nights there was a group in the second field blaring music, swearing, shouting and singing at the top of their voices until 2am.

They then persisted to take the speaker on a walk around the campsite several times past 23:00 shouting and singing so that they woke everyone up. When we checked in on the Saturday there was several groups in the shop complaining that this had also happened on the night before - but even with all these complaints (and judging by the other reviews from that week, more people had also complained) no noise checks were carried out, the group were not spoken to and just allowed free reign of the site to do as they pleased and literally kept the whole site up until 2am on several nights

Really disrespectful from the group….but I feel the owners should have done more to control it and not just ignored all of the complaints, as it was a reoccurring issue.

The grass was very overgrown in the second field and didn’t look like it has been maintained at all making it difficult to find a suitable pitch. The toilets were awful - there was poo on the seats and smeared on the walls. The sinks had spit in them and hair from previous people shaving. Again - you can't control people’s hygiene but you can implement a better cleaning routine to keep on top of it

I really felt sorry for families staying at the site as it did feel lawless, rough and unclean. Such a shame as it is a beautiful location

Everything! Beautiful rolling hills in the distance, all the essential facilities and more, and very helpful and friendly staff and (mostly) respectful fellow campers. Also, public transport links run early to late (though you must scale Daccombe Hill to get to the bus stop for Torquay) and the site is very affordable. This is very good value for money!

NOTE: THIS IS A VERY SMALL COMPLAINT AND IS LIKELY OUT OF THE PROVIDERS CONTROL… A small but loud minority of other campers. On Thursday night a somewhat ignorant couple set up at about 22:00 right next to us despite there being lots of space and kept us awake until 01:00. Luckily this was our last night anyway but having neighbours like that from the being would mean that we would have to either directly confront them or move ourselves after having set up. However, this was an isolated incident so it cannot be used to generalise for evaluation of our lovely stay, but it’s worth noting.

Been here 4 times now love the campsite so peaceful and excellent facilities. Didn't want to leave cant wait to go back

Loved the location beautiful views and friendly team running the site.
Facilities were good, little shop very helpful. Free to pitch the tent where ever you want.

On one night there was noise from another family well past 10.30pm - not the sites fault, but luckily I had decent ear plugs.
