I had the most idyllic stay at this campsite. Everyone was beautifully clean and the host very friendly. I particularly liked the fire pit and supplied logs (payment via honesty box) and the ability to pay anything via bank transfer. A short, but hilly, walk to the local shops and pub. Excellent welcome information supplied

A comment did other travellers, not the campsite! Please be considerate with loud music at night - although the host visits to ensure there isn’t noise, once they go it’s about respect for your fellow campers!

Treacle Valley Campsite is located in such a pretty part of Devon, located in close proximity to some of the seaside towns and Devonshire coves.
The campsite showers were always hot. There was enough toilets for the campsite and these were regularly cleaned.
The owner was very hands on and a fountain of knowledge for the surrounding area.

The grounds were uneven and finding a flat pitch was extremely difficult.
The play facilities were limited and in a small area which seemed to have been monopolised by a large camp of a family.
A few more showers would have been useful.
Limiting large groups would have also enhanced the experience and reduced the noise at night and the rubbish left. (Not owners or campsite facility fault but still part of the experience we had - I understand why campsites in the Lake District do not allow groups of campers - seems a few ruin for all!)

It was a beautiful peaceful site, with a beautiful view, clean facilities and friendly staff, it's good to know you can get a good cuppa coffee.

It was a lovely campsite, the staff were great. Coffee was delicious and everyone was very friendly. Toilets were clean and there was no pressure to rush on the last day. I would definitely return. I have no faults. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend to all my friends. Advice though to those without a car, there is a steep walk to civilisation but that did not stop us from making the trip daily. There is a co op and Tesco at the top plus a bus stop for Torquay. So the location was remote but close enough for us to do everything we wanted to do whilst we were there. Cannot recommend enough.

My daughter moved to Torquay 2 months ago so site ideal for us to stay at and visit her. 10mins walk up the HILL to bus stop which is number 31 every 30mins.
Lovely staff who remembered me from 7 years ago.

Not the campsite issue.
The hill walk to the bus stop was challenging but we managed it 4 times. Mind if wet as slippery! Tesco van got stuck on the bend one day!

The ground is rocky so make sure take rock pegs. Not a huge issue but advice and a reminder for future stays. Not ideal for those with mobility issues due to steps /hills but that's just Torbay area anyway.

Friendly welcome, good location with lovely views, great value for money
