Great campsite, very clean and the staff are very welcoming especially the pub onsite. Food is also great finished of with a nice game of Bingo

Lovely site, enjoyed the golf course and cycle routes.

We were there Saturday to Tuesday. Cafe, restaurant and entertainment on the Saturday was good but everthing closed Sunday and Monday which was a real disappointment. Nothing within walking distance from site.

WILL NEVER RETURN HERE AGAIN

We felt extremely uncomfortable with the way staff and management treated us. Without any proper warning, they even called the police and asked us to leave!

As a group, we rang ahead to make sure we would be welcome, and were told to book under our group name so we could all be pitched together. When we arrived, we set up and enjoyed ourselves — yes, there was normal noise with children playing and adults chatting, but nothing unreasonable. We even had neighbouring campers join us, and everyone got along great.

At around 1am, security asked us to keep the noise down. We immediately complied and went to bed — no arguments, no issues. Meanwhile, another group nearby had open campfires (not allowed) and repeatedly ignored staff telling them to put them out.

The next morning, management told us we had to leave, while the group with the fires were allowed to stay. None of our neighbouring campers had complained about us, and several even said it was ridiculous. We refused to leave and the police were called. In the end, the police actually supported us, and staff had to let us stay.

The whole experience left us feeling unwelcome and unfairly targeted. Staff were rude and unprofessional. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and sadly, under the new management, the atmosphere has been completely ruined. The pub owner and his family remain as lovely and friendly as ever, but the management of the campsite itself has destroyed what used to be a wonderful place. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

Nice view

To many children racing around on bikes and scooters between peoples caravans and motor homes making a lot of noise quite late into the evening and again very early in the morning. This was our second time here but we will never return. Electric has to be paid on top of pitch fee with a pre payment card. We went to the bar for a drink my husband was disgusted that his beer came in a plastic cup.

Campsite in the castle grounds was very nice
Bar was great and served good food

Shower and toilet blocks were not the cleanest, but it was bank holiday
My mrs said no hand cleaner in lady’s toilet block all weekend
