Friendly staff, good sized touring pitches,lovely setting with woodland walks from the site, pay for the electricity you use so competitive basic price for pitch. Warm clean well appointed showers and toilets. Convenient stop off for travel north.

Long distance to shower block from most pitches but toilet blocks more accessible. Had to drive to reach chemical toilet disposal.

We loved this site. The pitches are all spread out so everyone has loads of grass area alongside their gravel. There are tons of walks. Lovely little pub onsite and a milk station for milkshakes. The kids play area is great and there is any amount of grass away from caravans for kids to play football etc. The electric is optional and they suggest £5 a day - we stayed for 3 days and ran out of electric 10 mins before we left. We would get extra electric on our next visit as they refund any you don't use. This site may be too busy for us in season as it is a very large site. But we are planning to return many times out of season.

The only downside was the elsan point was a long walk from the site. Also the showers were quite far from the pitches. But there were toilet blocks with wash stations dotted about and they were all spotless and really warm.

The setting was beautiful. The facilities were clean, warm and central to the camp. We had dinner on site, the pizza was lovely. Very enjoyable stay.

Lovely setting as you drive in with the castle , forecourt will be great in summertime with live entertainment staff very helpful from checking in and checking out . Will DEFINITELY be back great that it had a 9 hole golf course and fishing .

Only downside was weather

Lovely location surrounded by woodland; hardstanding pitches all seemed to be level and of a good size. Site maintenance was of a very high standard.

Electric hookup charge card system; although to be fair for the 4 night stay our motorhome consumption from fridge/freezer, fan heater, kettle, phone charging & hair dryer 'might' have averaged £4 per night, though I doubt it. What was more concerning was the minimal, and sadly outdated toilet and men's shower facilities. I understand the ladies facilities were better. This site is well spread out and for those at the higher pitches getting to the shower block meant a hike rather than a stroll; those with mobility problems currently will be presented with a bit of a hobson's choice.
Finally, I was not advised about the TV reception. Despite locating the optimal transmitter mast location our omnidirectional TV aerial plus signal amplifier was generally unable to obtain reception; I think this should have been mentioned in the site's presentation at least.

First time at Hoddam Castle, loved it. Will definitely book again next year. Spotless facilities.
