Lovely peaceful campsite near the forest.

There is a lot of wildlife (including deer) around which you can see and hear.

The toilets and showers were kept nice and clean.

Very helpful and warm staff to welcome us and help us with anything we needed.

Friendliness of staff. Atmosphere. Showers nice & hot.

Chap who drove up in tractor when emptying grey water. Pointing out one way system (which we had used correctly) - unnecessary. Toilet block needed a bit of modernising - hard to mop floors & felt a bit tired. WiFi & network poor.

Bracelands is set in beautiful forest surroundings with easy trail access to the river (1.7 miles) and the wibbly wobbly bridge at Biblins. Waking up to the sight of the sun rising over the tall pine trees is so relaxing. Very friendly and helpful staff on site and shop is open till late. Even at the weekend when there were more campers, it felt very spacious. Plenty of clean shower/toilet block facilities and you don't have to pay separately for showers. Free hair dryers are also available in the shower blocks.
We took 2 small dogs and plenty of beautiful forest trails directly off various gates around camp (with dog poo bins). The site had several "safari" tents and wooden pods available which looked really nice if you don't have your own tent or fancy an upgrade. Coleford has a big LIDL and Co-op, hardware shop and takeaways etc and is only a few minutes drive away. A pizza van is on site on Saturdays and local chippy delivers to site on Thu/Fri . The site lays on paid activities like archery etc and there is a table tennis table. Once you walk down to the river, you can cross the bridge and enjoy drinks/ice creams and cakes at the farmhouse style shop to the left or turn right on same side of river as campsite and walk to the Saracens Head / Royal Lodge etc at Symonds Yat East. A hand pulled ferry / canoeing/ river cruise all available from there. Symonds Yat West with maze/butterfly farm/amusements etc is only minutes away. Bracelands has a separate set of lodges / holiday rentals further up the drive and there is a log cabin style restaurant there if you want to eat out within a short walk

    Disliked:

quite expensive in summer holidays but they do do deals and you get a free night after 2 stays

Size of site meant that we had lots of privacy.
Lots of water points and toilet blocks readily available.
Toilets clean and regularly checked with good shower facilities and hair dryers.
Walks immediately off-site meant we could just get out and go immediately after pitching up.
Shop at the reception was well-stocked with lots of good amenities including maps and essentials.
    Site was secure
Wildlife visible on site, we saw deer at night and a huge variety of rabbits and birds.
Wi-Fi accessible when up at the reception - no service where we stayed in the far field. This was really nice to disconnect from our phones, but the Wi-Fi was great for when we needed it!

    Disliked:

Had to look around a bit before we found a flat enough spot to pitch up.

First night was great, plenty of space, quiet and fantastic walks straight down into the valley.

    Disliked:

Second night, our pitch was surrounded by one group of 12+ tents, singing and making lots of noise until late, multiple tents within 1-2 metres of our van. It’s a real shame as I have stayed on multiple occasions but don’t think we’ll will be back.
