Access to the forest. Lots of space (once Easter was over). Seeing the deer on the site. Great staff.

How busy and haphazard the pitches were when we arrived at Easter weekend.
Also that the toilet block was closed for cleaning between 10.30 and 12. Meant we had to be up and washed before 10.30am, which is early when you're on holiday.

Beautiful well kept site with the friendliest wardens I’ve ever met.
Plenty of walks into the forest and able to walk to 2 pubs in nearby village.

Great clean campsite in the heart of the forest, really helpful staff - small laundrette onsite too which was amazing with little children after a small nighttime camping accident! Also loyalty card scheme seems a brilliant idea - we'll be back!

With small children in tow, perhaps some sort of onsite play area would've been a bonus but I appreciate that was a short sight in our booking!

A bil hilly, but it didn't really bother me much

Fantastic welcome from the start, all the staff we encountered were all very pleasant and helpful, even the guys who were outside working on one of the new huts smiled and said hello as you wandered past, great feel about the place. We stayed on a gravel hardstanding pitch with electric hook up, good size and plenty of space around each pitch. The water, bins and disposal points were plentiful and all very well maintained. The site is very well kept, and is in a prime location for exploring the forest and ideal for the mountain bike trails which were about 5-10 minutes away. Brilliant toilet and shower facilities, several blocks that meant even on a very busy Easter weekend you never had to wait for anything as there is so many.

Not a dislike by any means, but a stronger, more expanded Wifi signal would have been beneficial, I know you're on holiday and in a forest and you could say "just put your phone away", but lets be honest, most of us (admittedly sadly) these days rely on our phones for so much, even if it's just booking something locally. We were a little far away from the main block, and not sure where the signal boxes are located on the site but we struggled to get 1 bar - it certainly didn't dampen anything though, and a lot of sites don't even have this option, and it certainly won't put us off visiting again.

Pizza van was great,pitches were spacious overall experiance was excelent.

Showers were good but there wasn't anywhere to put your clothes to keep them off the floor or dry other than the door hooks,could do with a curtain and seat.

I understand the need for the rules and they are made clear at booking stage, but for us the things that would prevent us staying there again are:

No under 18yrs allowed in a tent without an adult. So you can’t put the kids in one tent and the parents in another.

Can’t have wood fires.

Can’t pitch awnings and other tents within 3 m of each other.

Some tent areas very bumpy.

Surrounded by woodland with walking trails. The pod was very cozy and a decent size. Toilet block clean and warm. All in all a well set up camping site.

Our pod was right next to a big half finished, dug up works of some kind with those metal poles around it with red and white tape. Obviously something temporary but it was quite an eyesore and the tape was trailing and flapping in the wind. Wasn't very idyllic and would have been nice to have been informed beforehand when we paid quite a lot for a pod.
