How the tents are around the edges so plenty room for the kids to play games in the middle

Good size pitches, relaxed atmosphere, tidy ground. Great ehu, water taps close by.

A lot of the problems this site had were the fault of other users not the park itself. Noise levels were ridiculous, groups walking to the toilets in the middle of the night talking at full volume, groups of teenagers shouting, shaking tents and banging on windows, pot washing at the facilities at 1am, full volume talking outside before 7am. The shower block floors were filthy most of the time with water and mud. The shop was very basic with only a few items for sale, not fresh milk etc. The cafe and activities are a good 15 minute walk from the site and very badly signposted. The road passed the site gets very busy late into the night and is very noisy. Users did not clean the pot washing sinks after themselves so these were often covered in leftover food scraps. Litter bins were hard to find and not signposted.

Great size pitch, nice playground, great location for Watersports centre and Nottingham. Well looked after site, lush grass and nice privacy hedges

The playground was more for older children - great for my 8 year old not so much for my 3 year old.

Lots to do in the country park for all ages, we were with friends and had a 5 year old up to teenage kids, so a great base for that.

Locked shower block is very dated but we used the wooden cladded block, much better but only 3 showers. Wi-Fi was charged and the signal is pretty rubbish on site.

We would not normally have picked somewhere with a rating of 8 and I feel that score is a bit low. We have already said that this would be a good place for a group of us, some with children, to come and would visit again as there are lots to do and see.
Pitches were well set out, tidy and attractive. Grass was just the right length with no clippings to walk in and out of the van.
There are 2 sets of shower/toilet blocks in the same area. The older set in the brick building are a bit dark and not as spacious as the ones in the wooden building (female). I also found the number lock a bit temperamental on the older building.
Convenient for the watersports centre which is why we came here. There are also bus stops almost outside so you can park up and not move your van.
We wanted to leave our van on the pitch a bit longer than the checkout time to watch our daughter race, I phoned the duty manager and he said that was fine.

The floors of the shower and toilets were a bit muddy but then that would be as expected when a large number of the guests have been rowing all day. I think this is probably what led to the lower score and it would be good to leave some mops to clean the floor after you have showered.

The site was ok

No one around to raise your concerns to shower/toilet blocks need a refurbishment

the site security was good .the entry security barrier worked well and on the whole ,although the site was busy we had plenty of space to enjoy our stay .

we booked to stay on a hardstanding pitch ,these it turned out are very narrow in width and are just about the width of a motorhome . this means you step out of your motorhome onto grass ,this made it quite difficult with my wife's wheelchair.
I appreciate that this may not be a problem for most people but in my experience moist hardstanding pitches are somewhat wider and usually can at least accommodate an awning as well .
The facility block is sited at one end of the site so it was a long way from our hardstanding pitch ,so to use the elson facility was quite a trek , I never did find a waste water emptying point and there were no signs for water bins.
Finally the drinking water signs had fallen off and just lying on the floor
