Lovely shabby chic railway hut ( we had Clarabel) . Wood burning stove inside ( wood available on site ) the stove warmed us up and dried is out after a wet day on Scafell pike . Views were beautiful , lots of friendly farm animals we had baby ducks and chickens and a few Goats visit .

Nothing much to dislike but I timed it wrong and had a chilly shower one evening . Hot the rest of our stay which was lovely . And the hut could have used a little sweep out between guests .But it is rustic Little tents are allowed in the small grassy area directly in front of the guys which does spoil the view across the valley

The facilities were always clean, the pitch we had was excellent. Lovely views. Check in was simple and it was a very relaxed atmosphere

Louise was lovely and welcoming. Campsite was in a lovely location and so peaceful and quiet.

Loved the simplicity of the site and the views were simply amazing.
Such a chilled site away from the crowds.
Only traffic, we’re the ducks !

The Quiet:
Lack of noisy groups and families
No loud music on a night
Great view down the valley.
The owner remembered me from last year.

The entry drive has a few pot holes that need filling

Amazing views.
Interesting farm life (visited by goats, sheep, geese and chickens).
Clean and homely railway hut.
Good basic facilities available.

Quiet site with lovely views.

Not the cleanest site. Open skip with general rubbish which must smell in hot weather. Recycling 10/10 but again in open containers. I am sure this could be improved. Bins outside the toilets overflowing.
Would make a difference if this was improved.

Was a lovely site and the owners very helpful, they even supplied me an electric kettle from there own house as I didn't have my own,
