Primitive grass campsite
Liked Love the North Derbyshire Peaks, so it's great for exploring if that's your thing! A few miles from Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Monsal Head, Froggat Edge. It's a non-electric site, but there is a communal fridge and freezer, which is handy! Friendly manager/warden. Clean facilities, free showers. Really friendly local pub (dog friendly as well: the next nearest 2 aren't). Nice quiet site. Fire pits and BBQ are allowed (not disposable ones). They have 3 XL pitches and Yurt type things that are only available on site website, but would be good for groups.
Disliked I'd run out of data and couldn't get the site WiFi. Maybe I was in the wrong spot. There is WiFi at the pub though.

Liked 10 mins drive from Allerthorpe Common (350 acres of forest: great if you have a dog), 10 mins walk from town centre, ample clean communal facilities, relaxed and friendly site. Have been before and will go again
Disliked nothing

Liked Closeness to local amenities, friendly site, dog walking (and Allerthorpe common is only a few miles away). The site (according to the site manager) is undergoing some improvements, so give them chance! I would come here again :-) It's close to York and other local attractions (York Maze and Air Museum) if you want to use them.
Disliked A few facilities could do with improving, but they are addressing these! Not really a complaint!!

Liked Spacious site with easy access to the Peak District either on foot, bike or car. No idea what wifi is like, but there is decent phone signal (O2). The village pub is very welcoming and dog friendly, but not all of the local pubs are! Bakewell is 15 mins drive, as are Chatsworth and Monsal Head
Disliked It was tricky to get the caravan level: we had had a lot of rain and the ground was a bit soft, but if I had taken some larger pieces of wood to spread the weight more: it wouldn't have been an issue - I'll do that if I go back!

Liked Friendly staff and good to admire all the bikes that come there! There are plenty of facilities for shower etc. I didn't use site Wi-Fi, but mobile and Freeview signal is good!

Liked Spacious site, peaceful, clean facilities and friendly owner!!! 4 miles from Pocklington if you want supplies / shops etc. A mile down the road is Allerthorpe woods with hundreds of acres to roam around. All the pitches are level and most are serviced. I've been back about 4 times so they must be doing something right! There was just me and my dog travelling, so the fact that it's a drive to shops / pubs / restaurants isn't an issue for me. There's plenty of space for kids to play and kick a ball around or whatever!

Liked Clean facilities, onsite farm shop, 0.5 mile walk to town centre for shops, pubs, restaurants. Level pitches and plenty of access to water points and electricity points. There are dog walks from site, but if you take a 10 min drive to Allerthorpe woods car park, there are hundreds of acres of woods to walk in.

Liked Cosy pub, well serviced pitches, plenty of opportunity to walk the hound (it was just me and the hound travelling). TBF: somewhere to chill out and take him for a walk suits me just fine. Plenty of electric points and water points on site.
Disliked Not really a 'dislike', but I couldn't get any TV signal (this may just be my old caravan equipment and more modern stuff may be fine). I was on hardstanding pitch which is level, but some of the grass pitches are on a slope, so advise taking levelling blocks / chocks :-)

Liked Travelled as single male with dog. What makes the site for me is a mile away, there's Allerthorpe woods (turn right, then take your 1st right down common lane). Over 300 acres of woods to explore. There's plenty of room for kids to play on site and the pitches are good. I didn't use the communal showers and washing areas, but they looked clean. It's a peaceful site with no noise late on, etc. Decent telly signal and useable phone / data signal. Not sure whether there's wifi on site (I don't think there is), but I'm not bothered if there's useable phone signal. There are plenty of electric and water points around the site.
Disliked For me: nothing. If you want a site with pubs and shops etc within walking distance, then this site is maybe not for you (although there is a pub about an hour's walk away). If I've got a place to take my dog for a decent long walk, then chill out in my deck chair with a cold beer from my fridge: then I'm happy!

Liked Everything. Just me and dog on hols... lovely site and acres of forest to visit just half a mile away. Peaceful site and great for walkers. Water and electric on pitches... everything spot on! Mobile signal is a little bit weak, but telly signal is good with freeview.
