Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely large grass pitches with a superb location for our daily walks by the river. The owner Colin was warm and friendly throughout our 3 day stay. Going out of his way every day, throughout the day, talking to everyone and certainly making our stay very enjoyable. Was lovely to see the chickens in the morning wandering around the site much to delight of the young children. The resident peacock was an added bonus. If you are expecting 5 star for the price then book somewhere else and pay the extra cost! This site is what it is and your stay will be what you make it. The website is clear what the site does not provide. There is no electric hook up and no hot water or washing up facilities or showers. We did not find this a problem because we have a motorhome which provides this. The toilets really do need looking at and should have been cleaner but we were told that this was a work in progress. It is beyond me why people steal the toilet roll. Colin runs this site on his own from meeting new campers, giving information about the local area for walks, places to eat and visit. He was amazing with the children, who seemed to love him and the lovely atmosphere within the camp was purely of his making.
