The Hut shepherd's hut
Liked I've camped here before and it's my favourite campsite. I've reviews the camping before but this time I stayed in the Shepherds Hut. Well, it was just about as perfect as it could be. The hut is cosy with a very comfortable bed and big plump pillows. Its simple but thoughtfully required with spare wool blankets and duvet if you get chilly. The small wood burner heats the hut up very well and there was plenty of wood and kindling that would have lasted longer than my three nights. The wingback chair was a comfy spot for reading and the small table with chairs is just right for a solo or couples dinner. Battery powered storm lanterns (with spare batteries) add to the cosiness. There are also plates, bowls glasses, tea and coffee plus a small camp kitchen with pans and utensils and a two ring gas stove Handily washing up sponges and tea towels are also provided and the hut kitchen has a private water tap. There is also a cool box and an onsite freezer to freeze cool blocks so your milk stays fresh! Essential for a tea lover. The compost toilets (2) and shower are functional and very clean. But most of all this place is great because of the location, the views over the fields from the little hut window and the clear love the owners have for their farm and the wildlife which they clearly want to share. A handwritten welcome card and two little jars of fish flowers in the kitchen made.me feel welcome and the notes on the chalkboards in the communal washing up hut will inform you of some interesting wildlife facts and seasonal things to look out for. There is also a circular farm walk from the site. I really can't praise this place enough in providing exactly the sort of peaceful and beautiful spot where you can escape.
Disliked Nothing.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Location - superb location very close to woolacombe (11mins googlemaps) and all the delights of the northcoast and Exmoor.
General feel - its a small site and very attractive with very short grass pitches divided by banks of long grass and wildflowers and surrounded by a natural slightly wild hedge. It's clean and neat while still feeling rustic.
Small size - I loved the small size just 6 pitches plus a few huts in the adjacent field.
Facilities - clean flush toilets and showers, plus washing up sinks with drinking water in a rustic wooden cabin. The basics as you would expect for a small rustic site but very clean and the showers are good and hot.
Wetsuit drying rack and washing lines - simple. Just a wooden beam and some rope lines but handy.
No cars by pitches - adds to the charm and there are trolleys to ferry kit from your car. Plus its a small site so its not far.
Firepits supplied - logs can be bought from the farm house.
Disliked No real dislikes. Pitches weren't super level but as good as most places I've been, better than some and not enough to be a problem.
