The village/pub is an easy 20 minute walk away.
Would definitely come back.

Powered grass and earth campsite
Liked No check-in or check-out times. In fact when we arrived, we were asked if we’d already pitched up - there is a sign saying you can do this if reception is closed.
Friendly young lad working on reception.
Very laid back site - lots of different areas and plenty of space.
The washing machine is based on honesty - write your name in the book and pay €2,50 when you leave.
Yes, the toilets/showers are jaded, but they are adequate.
A couple of minutes to walk down to the water - nice views.
There is a very nice creperie just a 10 minute cycle away. We arrived at midday when it opened and it filled up pretty quickly.

Immaculately kept facilities and the best level pitches I’ve ever stayed on.
The 20 minute walk to the pub through the woods with the dogs was lovely.

Liked Very easy to find - just off the A38.
The site and facilities were immaculate - the flattest, best kept pitches I’ve ever seen and very generously sized. Plenty of toilets and showers (no queuing).
Will definitely come back - we had a very relaxing weekend with our dogs. The 20 minute walk to the pub through the woods was lovely.

Powered grass travel trailer, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked This campsite turned out to be a real surprise. When we arrived at midday, it was noisy (children in the play area behind our pitch and a pool/aqua slides in the campsite next door. I wondered whether we might only stay one night; fortunately, that didn’t happen. Everything quietened down by about 10pm. We were in a pitch close to reception - if you were further away it would have been quieter.
There were lots of things to recommend this site:
- close to some lovely beaches
- lots of cycle paths (and all very flat)
- small shop to reserve deliciously warm croissants for breakfast (they were also happy to freeze our ice packs - at a small charge)
- a bar that opened at 5pm that also served pizzas on certain days
- great washing facilities (toilets and showers are unisex, not that that made any difference)
- very helpful staff
Disliked As mentioned above, this is next door to a campsite with a pool and water slides, so expect to hear lots of excited screams during the day - not a problem if you’re off site doing other things.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite
Liked Nice and small but well kept. There was a small outbuilding with a toilet, shower with hot water, sink and a washing machine. Although there was only one toilet and shower, I never had to queue to use the facilities.
There was another open barn that had a table set up with things you could buy - eggs, honey etc, and a fridge with drinks. An honesty box was left for payments.
The peace and tranquility in the late afternoon/evening was wonderful.
The first night was difficult, getting used to all the animal noises and being kept awake by the cockerels, but after that, I slept like a log.

Liked Lovely rural location with good walking and cycling routes.
We arrived early and waited until the reception opened at 2.30pm to book in. It seems that we didn’t actually need to do this and could have pitched up regardless. The people that run reception are very easy going and friendly. We were told to pitch wherever we liked, and adding an extra night was no problem at all.
There is a freezer in reception where you are free to drop your ice packs. Fresh bread and croissants each morning from reception. A perfect stay.
