Caernarfon, Gwynedd, Wales
Powered grass campsite
Liked Lots of room to play on the field, modern and clean toilet blocks, fun games room, close to Caernarfon and Sherpa bus services to Yr Wyddfa, though this convenience comes with road noise.
Disliked Dislike is a strong word, these are more observations: The pot wash facility is a bit small and awkwardly placed. Would benefit from more bins on site, particularly to encourage recycling.

From the manager: Thank you for your detailed feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the spacious field, modern facilities, and convenient location. We appreciate your observations about the pot wash. We do encourage recycling by providing separate bins for metal, glass, cardboard and plastic.

Liked Kym was so welcoming. The weather had been very wet and Kym upgraded our grass pitch to a hard standing. A good spot for visiting Portsmouth.
Disliked Nothing!

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Pitch anywhere, huge pitches, free hot showers, chilled atmosphere, close to 2 pubs, breakfast/pizza van (although we didn't use it) and friendly arrival.
Disliked Not game changers for us, but the toilets were quite a trek away and also very small. The non ehu field is on a gentle slope so choques needed.

FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite
Liked Lovely, friendly welcome. Fantastic showers, well worth the euro, undercover pot wash, close to ferry port.
Disliked Having to take rubbish home with you, the need for a key fob to access the shower (why?), only one sink to be shared by all.

FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Clean facilities, friendly welcome, good atmosphere with other campers.
Disliked Only 1 pot wash sink for the whole site and it wasn't under cover. Had to queue for ages for a shower as there are only 3.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked The field for tents was huge and quiet, despite there being a few other tents camping at the same time.
The owner was very friendly but makes sure that campers abide by site rules, such as speed limits and using a concrete slab underneath campfires to protect the grass; this attention made for a pleasant and safe site for our young children and a relaxing site for us parents.
The shower block was clean with free hot showers.
Disliked There was only one thing I feel could be improved and that's the washing up area. There is only one sink with one little, dribbling cold water tap. This meant washing up took a long time, but we were camping and had all the time in the world anyway so this wasn't a major issue at all.
Having said that, a better cold tap would improve this, and the addition of a hot water tap even more so.

From the manager: Thanks for taking time to give us a review and rating guys, Glad you enjoyed your stay, and il be looking into that tap before the weekend is out. Hope to see you again, Best wishes, Mike.
Dursley, Gloucestershire, England
Powered grass tent campsite
Liked The pitch was enormous. The campsite was not busy, there was only 1 other tent and a handful of caravans so we pretty much had the field to ourselves, much to the kids' enjoyment. Great to fly our kites with so much room to run around. The shower block is pristine with free, hot showers.
The campsite attracts lots of beautiful little birds. We were lucky enough to have seen a woodpecker.
Disliked It was mildly annoying to have to be let in/out of the campsite due to the barrier. A coded barrier would be better in my opinion.
The proximity to the motorway and railway means this site isn't a place to go for a bit of peace and quiet.

6metre powered grass campsite
Liked we were given a great pitch which the owner suggested to us with our children in mind. The kids were able to play all around the campsite without me worrying about traffic, they particularly liked playing in the tennis court. Peaceful during the day and lots of space to play.
Disliked There were 2 showers in the ladies, the one on the left was useless, I would have been better off having someone spoons water over my head using a fork. The nearby road meant it was quite noisy at night, but having said that I also heard a cuckoo. 😊
